Why is that?
I mean your pat answer is "god did it", but that's not an answer or an explanation. It's an intellectual cop-out.
How did god create the universe. After all, he can't change the fundamental laws of thermodynamics so he must have either had the raw materiels to work with, or found them. Either way, he did not create anything, he simply re-arranged matter.
And why would he even bother in the first place? If he is immortal and perfect as you say, he couldn't get lonely so why bother making teeny playmates to torture for his amusement in the first place?
You see? Your mythology makes NO sense whatsoever when you turn a critical eye towards it.
But if you want to venture an explanation, I'll read it. Be warned though, I WILL expose every logical fallacy and make fun of you for it as well.

C4ndygirl,
Just as stupid as always huh?
You just answered my question and you don't even understand. And at the same time you avoided answering! You really are a laughable bunch. Let's see if you're smart enough to understand what you've done and how to do it. Go on, use the edit button and try and figgure it out. If you don't we'll know why.

Ok we have a LOT of people who apparently don't understand the difference between CREATING matter, and building a building.
Just for you retards, here is a simple explanation;
When you build a building, you don't create anything. You take existing matter and change either it's form or it's composition. Take concrete, you take rocks mortar and water (three things that already existed) and blend them together. Making concrete. You cannot (and neither can your imaginary sky-pixie) create the three things in the first place.
Understand now?

You may feel free to point out my logical fallacies as long as you admit that your question was really more of a statement.

To say that God created the universe is not meant to be a replacement for answering how it was created. It answers who, not how, nor why. It may well be that the big bang had it right, and that God used that method for his creation. These believes are not contradictory.

It is impossible to say whether God is bound by the laws of physics, thermodynamics specifically. We have never scientifically studied a "God", so we cannot empirically say what he is or is not capable of. Furthermore, our laws are based on repetitive study with very controlled circumstances. In all instances, the experiments being performed by mortals was a constant. One might say that a caveat of all scientific laws is that they only apply to mortals, and that further applications may not be accurate. I imagine that most scientists find such clarification as unnecessary as saying, "This is always true, except for magic."

For that matter, using thermodynamics strictly provides many problems. The first law of thermodynamics states that matter and energy cannot be created from nothing. This tells us that the universe may not have been created from nothing, but rather something existed to begin with. However, the second law of thermodynamics states that all things degrade to a lesser state over time. This poses a problem, because degradation cannot be eternal. Something which is perfect has only a limited time before it becomes completely imperfect. Conversely, something which is not completely imperfect, must have a finite time from the time which it was perfect. Furthermore, one must ask what would cause something which was perfect to become imperfect? It is illogical to say that anything inherent to the universe itself caused its initial degradation, because nothing eternal could have a time frame for change. One must only conclude according to the laws of thermodynamics that the universe existed in a consistent state for an infinite amount of time until something outside of itself caused a change. This change is now degrading and will continue to degrade until the degradation is perfect. The real question is then what or who is outside of the universe and yet effected it?

As for why an immortal God would create a universe, I couldn't say, nor can anyone else. The Bible doesn't say. I am not as smart as God, nor is anyone else; therefore, no one can reason why he would have done so, only propose possibilities.

Would you say that the Empire State Building sort of evolved from a pile of bricks and rocks? No, you would say that someone designed it and someone built it.

Why would the Universe be any different. It's the same except on a larger scale. The way it all works together seamless demands an answer to who designed and created it. It could not have simply evolved from the elements and created itself. Therefore there must be a higher being that created it all.

True you can not prove that God made it, but go ahead and prove who made the Empire State Building without looking up the paperwork. Trying to figure out who created the universe without looking at the bible is impossible. One must have faith that the bible is the word of God just as one has faith that the deed is the correct information about the Empire State Building.

God created everything because he could. He isn't lonely as He has the company of angels in heaven and mankind here on earth. He did not create us to torture us. He gave us freewill so in that sense, we torture ourselves. He gave us free will so that we could choose right from wrong. Imagine how boring it would be if he made us all the same like robots.

He doesn't need any reason for what he does. He has a reason but it is not our place to ask nor can we understand he reasoning. It is our place to be thankful for our life and all the wonderful things God created for us here on earth.

Well being that God is a being that lives outside of time and space, then the normal scientific laws do not relate. Yes, this seems like a cope out but so does your- big bang- because you need a starting point too. So where does it start- everything has a beginning- we know the universe is expending- so it had to have a start- what scientific proof do you have for the start. We say there was a being outside normal scientific parameters and you scoff yet-you can't come up with any answer that doesn't go to that same point of something starting it all existing outside of time and space. That's what this is really about right-just being upset that you have to come to the same sort of conclusion?

I hear this all the time, but I never hear anyones reasoning on how it was created. Yes, God did create it. How? I don't know. Our human minds can't grasp the concept of this. We don't even begin to use a portion of our true brain power, so your arguments don't make any sense either. Tell me how everything came into being then tell me how those things came into being. You can't. Everything has to be created from something. It just doesn't appear.

You know, I'm not sure what side of the fence I sit on with this issue but, I do know, you are just looking for a confrontation, not real understanding. Nor are you looking to open a dialog with people who believe differently than you. So, there is your answer. FUTILITY. some people recognize it, some don't. You will never understand what gods plan is, if there is one. Just like you will never understand the serious flaws in evolution that we either can't find or can't replicate. But hey, monkeys eat their own poop, you can too.

okay, here are some few things i would like to say.

One major reasons why I believe in God is he is there to care and love us.

Another major reason I believev in God is that I have faith.

God created the Universe because he is Almighty and all Powerfull and even All Knowing.

Another thing I would like to point out is, by saying he rearranged matter, you are saying that you are fine with the fact that you are goo.

But the reason is he wanted people to worship him, also how could he have messed with matter if there was nothing there to begin with?

God wanted people to worship him and love him.
He doesn't tend to torture us.

Also my favorite Memory Verse of all time,
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for a hope and a future.

God has a plan for your life, all you have to do is turn to him. With Faith as big as a mustard seed.

The have faith all they study in a e book of information made up by making use of a million/2-bare, critically sunlight-affected sand savages based in Bronze Age myths, legends and superstitions. they suspect 31 verses in one financial ruin of a e book of information made as much as answer the questions of babies and the scammers made up some stuff to fulfill them. modern-day technology, distinctly scientific technology, is outfitted on Evolutionary concept. i ask your self what number actual Believers™ could take their ill son or daughter to a doctor – who became a witchdoctor steeped in Bronze Age myths, legends and superstitions … who disregarded the discoveries of modern technology. those Defenders of lack of information above/previously me verify that USians will quickly quit to be international leaders in scientific study – interestingly the numbers of youthful USians going ‘into technology’ are at an all time low. i'm nonetheless reeling on the lack of information some answerers have shown … all in step with worry … all based on the paranoid premise that there’s an invisible guy in the sky who watches each and every thing we do, think of and say, 24/7. ~

OK we have someone who apparently doesn't understand that God CREATED everything. Just for you, you funny little Green goblin dude, here is a quick and simple run down.
When God created everything, he created everything. He took nothing and made something. Cause he is God and your banters fo God not existing doesn't prove anything.
Understand now?
He created your "law" of thermodynamics and he can change them too.

Your mind cannot wrap itself around the fact that God MADE everything...He made science! God created all you see out of nothing...for He is God and can do anything...that is just your choice not to believe. You have a veil over your eyes...

I do not have a complete explanation. I never have, and never will.No one knows everything about how the world came to be.But,we all have good ideas about the beginning. That's why I ask!
I think that God made the world. Why,when,or how he did is unknown to me.
