I need the DL for work but I don't know anyone who would lend me the vehicle to take the test. Is it possible for me to rent a car if I don't already have a license?

Go to a driving school. They'll probaby insist on a couple of hours of instruction to be sure that you're ready, but they will allow you to use their vehicle for the test. An instructor will accompany you.

You cannot rent a car without a license. Nor can you drive one with a permit; you must hold a full license.

You can't rent a car if you are under a certain age (23 or 25), without a credit card and without a license. Period.

Are you sure that you don't have a friend with a car or a family member? Like a grandpa or distant cousin? What about a member of your church or a neighbor?

It seems unfair that you can't buy a car or get insurance witout a driver's license, but to take the test you need a car with insurance.

If worse comes to worse you could always just start asking people in front or behind you in line at the DMV.....maybe some nice person had the same problem and they'll let you borrow their car. People are a lot friendlier than you think.

Good luck!

If you don't own one, then you must borrow one. How about your mom or dad. For your second question you can not rent one without a license plus you need a credit card.

you don't just need a car, you need a liscensed driver. you can probably get a driving school to just take you to the test without taking lessons from them.
