I'm a 18 years old male teenager. My sister cries at the slightest thing and is unreasonable. My mother is worse, she nags and shouts at me in the middle of the night, thinks that she is right everytime, badmouths my gf and friends when she hasn't even seen them! She tells me that my priority now is my studies which i have handled very well, even with a gf but she is still not pleased, telling me to pack my pile of books. I wonder why i am so dumb to study so hard while most of my friends just play. I envy all of my friends. Is there any law that is able to let me get away from my mother? I jus hate this family of mine......

Did you ever hear the story about the ants and the grasshopper? The one where the grasshopper just wants to have fun all the time, while the ants are working to prepare for the coming winter, and when winter comes, the grass hopper regrets not working ? No, I'm not preaching, I partied too, but there is a time for work, and a time for play. One more thing, hate is self destructive. While you're busy hating, people are enjoying this short trip called life.

You ever thought maybe they hate you just as much. Why don't you move out
while you still know more. Get a job, pay the bills, give up your paycheck
to have a place to live, sacrifice clothes, entertainment, favorite foods, Cologne's
for your family and have the brat tell you how much you're hated.
Some people are so hard to please, I give up!

You're 18, which makes you an adult. Therefore, you can move out and support yourself and make it so that you're the only one responsible for you and your actions.

With that being said... if you're living under her roof, and she's paying your way, a little nagging encouragement to better yourself is a small price to pay.

It's tough out in the real world, and you'll find that out once you're having to make it on your own.

Hang in there. If your mother is so focused on academics, chances are she plans on helping you pay for college if she can.

You have done all that hard work in school, you don't want to blow it by alienating your mother and not being able to pay for college. It is actually natural for teens to not want to be with their parents. This helps us leave the nest so we can be adults. Good luck!

One thing I have to say is we have all hated our families at one time in our life. I've had differences with both my parents and my siblings. I love them even though they can be annoying, rude, mean. You just have to talk to them about how you feel...if they dont listen write them a letter. Tell them you have feelings of leaving and not being apart of their family. Think about it before you throw away your whole life..one day you may look back and regret leaving them. Good luck
