I just dont know,my Mom and sis say 14 is too old for bangs,but I wear them swept to the side,and my hair is alway neat and clean.
Also,bangs as far as hair stylists tell me,are the most flattering to my face. Help!

You're not too old for bangs! escpecially sideswept bangs. They look good on just about everybody. If it's what you like and you feel confident with them then that's fine!

You are NEVER to old! Dont believe that. My boyfriend's mom wears those bangs that come across the forehead. I have side swept bangs, I know alot of people that have bangs!! And you should do things to your hair that flatter and compliment your face, thats what its all about. I think 95% of the people I know have some kind of style of bangs. Wow, dont believe that at all.

sweetheart i don't think you will ever be too old for bangs, cause i am 33 and still sometimes wear them. Also, if they're appealing to you don't worry about what anyone else says, you have to wear them not them. So go on and continue to wear your bangs girl. Listen to the stylists, 9 times out of 10 they'll tell you the truth.

I'm more than 3 times your age, and I still have bangs.
My angular chin (I'm female despite my messed up Avatar),and broad forehead definitely need the bangs-it softens my whole face.
The hair cutter always has some trained judgment & is probably taking these things into consideration.
Personally, I question whether those criticisms might be coming from jealousy. Stick with what works best for you, you will be glad you did. And since when do your mum & sis know better than the hairstylist?
Otherwise, you'd be having them cut your style , now wouldn't you?

Of course your not too old for bangs. No one is ever too old for bangs. I'm turning 19 and I want to do some bangs to give my appearance a little edge. I think bangs are perfect for any age and it gives you a boost in your apperance depending on the shape of your face, but as you said "Its most flattering to your face" so you should not have a problem keeping it. Besides, if you do decide to get rid of the bangs....you'll look like everyone else and who want to be like everyone else right?DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!

PLEASE!!! I'm almost 24 and I still wear bangs!! When they're shorter I wear them in the front, but when they get longer, I wear them to the side, Just like you said you do! You're never to old for bangs!
On the other hand, some people don't have the facial structure for bangs. Your mom and sis might not think it suits you. But if you like them, wear them! What's the worst they can do, ground you for being yourself, or make fun of you? I'm sure you can handle things!!

No bangs are all in how they are styled and cut .. they can be cut on a slant.. that's cute. or cut in as a part in layers. Or they can cut on a bias.
Go get a hair magazine and go through it. There are women of ages with bangs I'm 29 and have bangs.. Lots of my girl friends have them..
The only thing is you have to get them cut long enough where you can still pull them when you want.. not like gwen stefani in the wind it up video. those are to short in my opinion

I hadn't had bangs since I was seven years old, and then I decided that I needed a change in my life (haha) and got some. I don't think that they make me look younger or anything, and it's not like there are age limits for hair like, "you have to be 35 or older to have layers". That would be pretty... Eh... Well, stupid. So if you like your bangs, tell your Mom to deal with it. :) Happy Holidays!

I'm 14 and have bangs too, which I wear to the side also. Even if I was older, bangs are a style for anyone, depending if they look good, not on your age. I'm sure they look good on you, especially if your hairdresser says so.

14 is not too old for bangs unless you are wearing them with a buster brown haircut! And when you get older, you can use them to help cover up those pesky forehead wrinkles. I don't think age should decide, I think it is whether they flatter your face.
