Are final exams really necessary? Do they really prove that you have learned anything?

What about those sts who are good learners and can't put up with final exams -though they kill themselves stuydying?

Some people don't test well, and that's a shame, but yes, finals are important. I realized that when my microbiology professor gave us the final the first day of class. Obviously the grade didn't count, since we all flunked it out loud, but when we took it at the end of the semester, I realized how much I really had learned.
