A. Mylicon drops
B. yes, massaging might help, but what really helped our son was pushing on his feet so his knees push on his tummy (not too hard), but this really got the gas out, and made him feel better!

bouncing..sometimes walking around gently bouncing the baby will help. My son used to get gas really bad..like 5 or 6 times a day. It was horrible. have you thought about changing his formula? If this happens a lot, you might think about it. I had my son on regualr formula and I changed him to soy.Turns out hes like me..lactose intolerant. Now he rarely has gas and when he does, mylacon drops help. Also you can try water. Sometimes water will push the gas out without adding something too heavvy for their stomach to digst. Not a lot of water, mind you, about an ounce or so...and make sure its at least room temp. cold water/ food/ bottles can als make gas in a young baby. rubbing and [patting _burping_ can also aid ...ruband pat in an upward motion from his lower back to his neck.... anything to soothe! (also are you sure the kids not teething? If so try teething tablets or orajel.) sometimes teething will cause gas because of the excess sliva swallowed into the stomach. Again, go to the store and buy mylacon drops, infant tylonal, and teething soothers. ALWAYS KEEP THESE ON HAND!

Put a thermometer with vaseline on it in her anus and twirl it for 30 seconds and that should release gas and maybe even have a bowel movement so be prepared with some wipes and a diaper under her hiney.
Also bicycle legs help. Pumping her legs towards her stomach for a mfew minutes.
But nothing has helped as much as the thermometer trick, just don't over do it. Try not to do it morethan twice a week and for more than 60 secs each time

A massage for the tummy is great also you can add a drop of lavendar oil to your palm, rub you hand together and then hold on tummy and back, massage in. This usually helps with digestive system. Gas drops work well, also bicycle legs to get things moving along. Hope this helps!

Put the baby on his/her back and take her legs and gentle lift them and bend them toward the stomach. In a modified leg lift...it help the gas to break up and leave the body every time.

I hated to resort to medicines for reflief when my son had an ailment however, Mylicon drops or a generic version, were the only remedy!
I've recently heard of Gripe Water, available online just do a GOOGLE search for where to purchase.

Rubbing is soothing, also, lying the baby on its belly and rubbing the back, laying it on its back, and moving its legas slowly and carefully, like its riding a bike worked for my daughter, and gas drops, like the first poster said, really do work.

you can also lay him down on his back and move his legs towards his tummy and then straighten them back out. this movement sometimes helps to get the bubbles out.
p.s. i wouldn't try that thermometer thing...i just don't like that idea, personally. especially when you don't even get invasive like that to take their temperatures.
