If you are talking about major companies, and you are talking about genuine sweepstakes, they are perfectly legitimate.

The only way they are 'fixed' is the odds of winning are crazy. You are talking almost lottery odds with many of them. So you can enter dozens of times if you like, but your odds are probably hundreds of thousands if not millions to one. You could easily play every week for the rest of your life and not win a major prize.

The most likely outcome is that you will 'win' the gift of spam. They will use your email address to bombard you with special offers.

Publishing Clearing House is a legitimate contest, but they will dun you to death with email offers. The odds of you winning are astronomical.
