My personal appearance says that I'm carefree and independent from the frivolities of modern society.

To the layperson that means that I look dishevelled, unkempt and generally looking like shite!

Hey Ho!

Personally I would say my personal style tends to reflect my mood on a particular day. To some degree your apperance can reflect your confidence, because often I don't care how people Perceive me, as long as I know I look and feel good...but at other times appearance is very important, especially in a work setting, often apperance is what sends people straight to the top.

Your personal style says a lot about your personality actually, because it is a choice you make to display to the world, if you want to make a statement it is the quickest way to do it. Of course you can't allow steriotyping to take over when you look at someone. If you see a gothic person that does not mean that they are evil sadistic cutting freaks. Actually most of the goths i know are really fun to party with, you just hae to get to know them. Same thing with wiggers (i don't know what you call them in the states, all i know is that if a white guy makes the mistake of thinking he is black in canada, we call him a wigger, or a wangster, or something like that. Because they're not black, i hate how rich white kids will listen to rap music about real life struggles of real people in situations these white kids can't comprehend, cranking it in thier daddy's SUV that costs nearly as much as an entier low income housing block, just a bunch of ignorant assholes.) Not all wiggers are assholes, although because i am not an asshole, most don't associate with me. But that's getting into cliques and stuff. The way i dress, it's kind of... nuetral. I am not sure of how to describe the way i dress, it follows no trend i know of, i have been dressing the same way for as long as i can remember, and i like it because you can't look at me and make a whole lot of instantanious judgements. It's comforatable clothes, but they still look nice, i rarely ever have any kind of visible logo, if anything it is something small, or some funny saying. Because i am muscular and in good shape, i wear loose fitting clothing to hide it, so you can't look at me and assume i am just some jock. I hang out with people from every crowd i can think of, just because there is no crowd for me to fit, i fit everywhere. This is most visible in highschools, and less apparent as you get into colleges and universities. After highschool everyones just starts to stop caring about making a statement. But most of the things that clothes say are superficial, you need to talk to a person to really find out what they are like.

I think it depends on the person looking at you. Some people are very superficial, and they will judge you on your appearance. Other people simply won't care what you look like or what you wear. Honestly, I don't think clothes should matter to other people. They're not wearing them, you are, and you should wear whatever you're comfy in. =)
