Depends what you want to put into it or get out of it. If you want more options for jobs and an easy time in basic, go navy. If you want a challenge that you will never get anywhere else, and you are willing to put all your effort into it, then Marines. However, don't put too much stock in anything you hear on here. Ultimately its up to you to decide. Weigh everything out and see what looks the best for YOU, because what works for one doesn't always work for all. As far as being female, nobody cares as long as you do your job and don't complain about it.

i would say Marines. only because i am one. do what you feel is best. Personally I would talk to all the recruiters. and who said the navy has better training? when i went trough my mos school we had Navy and Marine instructors. Students were also Sailors and Marines. i did 6 months on the USS Enterprise and had a great time, met some great people, and saw alot of cool places. I also saw some of the not-so great jobs the Navy offers.

I guess it depends on the woman and what she wants to do in the military and what she wants to get out of it. The Navy has more options, so I guess I'd recommend the Navy over the Marines for most people.

Women can serve in either branch and be successful. I personally chose the Navy for my last tour, but I have a lot of friends who went marines instead. I would highly suggest that you look into what school, and Rate/Job each service will offer you. If you really want to work in a certain field then see which service offers you the best deal for it. Keep in mind that you don't want to sign up for one or the other based on the novelty of it, I know a lot of people that joined a service just to say that they did and they regret it. I would recommend doing a lot of research into the jobs and college benefits that each service offers before you make your decision.

Navy, the Marines don't treat women very well. The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy so either way you'll be working for the Navy.

WELL FIRST OFF THANKS TO ALL FOR APPRECIATING THE ARMED FORCES ANY BRANCH OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY IS GREAT AND AN HONOR TO SERVE IN BUT IN TO ANSWER YOUR Q. IT ALL DEPENDS WHAT THE SITUATION CALLS FOR THE NAVY AND THE AIR FORCE BOTH ARE GREAT FOR CLEARING THE WAY FOR THE ARMY AND MY BELOVED MARINE CORPS AS THE GROUND POUNDERS!!! OOORRRAAHHHH!!!!!! BUT REMEMBER ONE THING IN COMPERING THE NAVY AND THE MARINES THE MARINES ARE A DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY WITHOUT EACH OTHER WE WOULD BE NOTHING!!!! MARINES ARE AT THE MERCY OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WE DO WHAT HE SAYS AND NOT CONGRESS!! THE MARINES ARE MENT TO GO IN KILL EVERYTHING AND GET OUT AND LET THE ARMY TAKE CARE OF THE REST !!! SO IN CONCLUSION THE NAVY IF YOUR NOT A VIOLENT AND CALM PERSON AND THE MARINES IF YOU DONT TAKE S@#T FROM NO ONE AND ARE A TOM BOY

The Navy will offer you more choices of an occupation. Remember EVERY Marine must qualify with a rifle and be prepared to use it regardless of you occupational specialty(MOS).
