Who did U find--the girl or her missing mother? Who did U hug--the girl or the missing mother?
A hug wouldn't be inappropriate. But if you really like her and like receiving affection as you apparently like showing affection, find a new girl. You won't be getting your natural gift for being affectionate reciprocated.

Not inappropriate at all - it's a caring gesture regardless of what your relationship is. I'm not touchy feely either but a hug is definitely needed sometimes. Human touch is important!

no that isnt inappropriate......when something happens like someones mom is missing.......a hug is a way of saying I'm here for you.........even for non touchy feeling people. However, IF you are really concerned.... I would suggest an email to her stating
that you apologize if the hug made her uncomfortable, but you didnt know what to say & thatwas the only way you knew to show her that you are "there for her" if she needs you.

Good luck & dont worry....

a hug between friends during a difficult time should not be strange. Just don't let it go further than that for now.

no, there's nothing wrong with a hug, you're friends come on! sometimes i hup people that i just met, it's not like you're kissing her. If she is uncomfortable with that, she needs to get a grip on herself!

i guess that's your form of comforting her. I mean hugging her and letting her feel that she's not alone is kinda sweet.

if she feels uncomfortable then don't hug her,,maybe you just want to start with words first ,,,,make her feel comfortable first
