Yes. Since most of them just want a better life, that will give them a good-paying job. When they are done with the army, they are legalized citizens!

Since at the moment the only draft that is actively going on is happening inside the military for certain less than pleasant orders, no. Not to mention a good portion of the service members i served with were not born in America, and were actually serving in order to get their citizenship. It is an option that is offered to many people, but a lot of people do not take advantage of the benefits. In order to pull a draft only of illegal immigrants, wait a minute, is there actually a registry that you go to if you are not legally in the United States? I didn't think so. However; I do agree wholeheartedly that serving in the military is a wonderful way to go for many people, whether for citizenship, college money, or just to get away from home and see the world.

I do not think so. First of all, why should people who are not even in this country legally, swear fealty to these United States? Serving in the military is a voluntary honor, and I highly doubt that people who reside here illegally would go to such lengths to stick out by joining the army. Whle we do need more soldiers, its more appropriate to recruit willing, legal citizens. Also, why would anyone legal or otherwise want to die in an unjust war. But I digress. The point is, illegals should not be allowed to join the military.

You can only be in the army, navy, air force, etc. if you are an American citizen... although, that sounds like a good rule to me... if you want to come here you have to fight for our country! They're willing to die to get here, so why not send them to Iraq or wherever else and if they make it out alive then they can stay in our country... I doubt they would go for that though, considering MOST of them want a free ride. Just my opinion.

There are a number of illegal aliens in the army and they are not actively taken out because they serve a purpose. These are usually the ones who have been here long and can easily blend in.

It can't happen due to DD398-2 security agency Questionaire, most military jobs require some sort of security clearence for intrests of opsec, comsec etc. non-varifiable (immigrant) illegal or not... background info is imperative to todays military..... its quality not quantity...Also, why would we draft when we could have a volunteer military?

No! The army should be solely made up of individuals that choose by their own decision to join! Would you like to be drafted?

Hey streamcat, why do we need more soldiers? Is it because the chicken hawks who support the war are ******* and refuse to fight? The poor little republicans are scared to fight so they want our government to find someone to fight for them. If you support this war why do you not join and fight so we will not need to find immigrants to fight for this country. The military already takes people who are not citizens and after they serve they receive citizenship. This is because you are a coward.

Didn't the Roman Empire have a problem with a military made up of foreigners?

Besides cheap labor,I think it's possible that, they allowed them all in here for just that purpose. I think we can all agree that they didn't allow it out the kindness and compassion.
