I spend $0.50 for my beer! I see it in store water at $0.99 +tax and crv. Do you think that makes any sense value wise??
Brew my beer or your soda, all the ingredents and licenses ,and pay less than Plain water.????
Is any one value conscience out there?
H2O = H2O nothing more, nothing less. You cannot guarantee it did not come straight from the tap. I don't care about you finicky taste.
I'm am concerned at value and profit. Think! America sends millions of bottles of water in most every diaster nation "World" wide . You and I pay for it (taxes) and THEY sell it to the Governmemt to give away. When they list the tax deduction, they take that $.99.
We are being ripped off in our food purchases.
Even water!

I think bottled water is one of the greatest rip offs ever perpetrated on the public. A recent report said 76% of all bottled waters come from a tap somewhere and may or may not have undergone additional filtering. How bad a rip is that?

It absoluetly is...most bottled water is just filtered tap water anyway and still others don't have the fluoride in them that tap water has which studies have shown is leading to bad dental health among people who have taken to drinking only bottled water.

If you don't want to drink straight out of the tap, get a Brita or Pur water filter and filter your own. It tastes as good and in some cases even better than bottled water and is cheaper in the long run.

And the OP may want to consider using it to take a valium.

I buy bottled water at Costco which comes out to about $0.15 per half-liter bottle.

Most bottled waters are essentially tap water especially when it says, "bottled from a municipal source."

Are we getting ripped off?
I think this is a fine illustration of capitalism and the law of supply/demand. For me, paying 0.99 per bottle is a ripoff. However, I'm willing to pay 0.10 to 0.15 per bottle so I don't have to drink my local tap water that's heavily chlorinated.

Water is the elixir of life.

I found an article, link below, that illustrates what happens in 2006 when a local municipality issues a boil water order. Chaos!

Wonderful - I have someone with whom I can fully agree. The greatest fraud in the history of mankind. In the UK common bottled water is more expensive than Petrol which costs about £5 per gallon. I know one cafe that buys bottled water, small bottles for 3 or 4 pence each and sells them in their thousands during the summer at £1 each. Who ever devised the advertising campaign for it should have been crowned King or Queen. I remember, many years ago, after a visit home to Ireland I was preparing to return to London. I bought some food for travelling including a bottle of water. My old Mom, God Rest her, saw it and asked 'Is this some sort of lemonade Mick'. 'No' says I 'just water Mom'. 'What, just ordinary water' she asked with her hand to her face. 'Yes' said I proudly. 'Mother of God' she said 'he's paying £1 for bloody water now'.. That was the last bottle I ever bought and nowadays I fill up old bottles with good old tap water........................

Finally, W.C.Fields once said 'Water, never drink it. Fish fu*ck in it'.......................

Not everyone has the time to make their own beer and soda. Also, if you need water sometimes you have to buy it.

Potable water is a must and if you can't get it then you have no other choice. You can only live 3 days without water.

Lol. This is y I carry around water in my own waterbottle (because I can always refill) or I buy a pack of water bottles. It's definitely much cheaper than those ones in the convenience stores.

I agree, bottled water is a rip off. My husband disagrees. I drink tap water all the time, it contains certain minerals and trace elements that we need. Our household water is from a well and it is pure. I wouldn't waste money on bottled water.

Yes. It's a sad fact that to sell something as 'Pure water' or 'Bottled water' it just needs to be filtered.
Tap water is absolutely fine, even though I need my tap water to be chilled in the fridge before I drink it. ;)

no it doesn't make any sense value wise but it's their way of making a profit and they can do it any way they want to. So we have no input on how much companies charge on their water and it is expensive because stores have to make a profit, too.
