Haircolor, even bleach, will not kill the eggs. The only way to completely get rid of them is to use an over the counter product, like RID. It's very important to follow the directions and repeat the treatment after a few days so you can be sure to kill any eggs that have hatched. It is tedious, but you also need to comb every single egg out.

NO, you need a medicated shampoo to kill lice. Nix, Rid, or Kwellada are the recommended brands. You will also need a fine tooth comb to comb out the nits (eggs) and repeat the shampoo as directed to kill the new lice as they hatch.

I got it from school too, it was horrible! You must vacuum her entire bed, bedding, every thing! Throw away her pillow wash her bedding and pillow case, throw away her hair ties, bows and hairbrush , vacuum any furniture in her room! I tried sooooo many things but what worked for me was generic walmart brand lice shampoo, when applying you should wear a showercap too. Start combing shampoo starting at the top of her scalp and comb shampoo in from root to tip. You have to let it soak for a while ( there will be directions in the box) Good Luck! PS Lice jump from scalp to scalp, so any other members should be examined for lice too
