What could be the cause for red streaks in stool looks like blood, but does not smell like a GI bleed. 2 yr old boy. Has not eaten anything that might have caused it. At eggs for breakfst yesterday, drank cranberry juice had some bacon. Lunch was blueberry jelly with peanut butter sandwich. Supper was chicken. Breakfast today was cereal.

it's probably the jelly or the cranberry juice that's discolored his poop. Wait til the next bm to see what color it is.

I agree you should only get this info from a DR - but I'm willing to bet there are not many DRs reading these "ask-yahoo!answers" page - CALL your son's Dr - now....

It may be from a tear or hemorrhoid.
Do you think doctors are waiting to give free advice?
