It is a disclaimer that manfacturers of just about anything sold in California saying if you die due to some misuse of the item it is not their fault.
There is no need to worry, probably means that if you are pregnant and try to smoke, eat or somehow digest the item or some of its componets you could cause your unborn baby/babies to have birth defects!
Thanks to Prop: 65!

If the toy is used under normal circumstances, it should be safe.
However, if it's taken apart, broken up or disassembled and the gubbins inside exposed, there is a risk.
The warning is a CYA (cover your a**) clause for the manufacturer.
They're making you aware that someone somewhere in a lab determined that a component of this toy can be considered dangerous.
I've just looked here:
http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAdLargeImage?AdId=7883441&img=http://kijiji.ebayimg.com/i10/01/i/000/7a/93/68cb_18.JPG
and it appears they may be referring to the batteries (Ni-Cd).
Is your warning in the lower middle part of the back of the box?
It's there to help you make an informed choice BEFORE you buy.
If junior is a tinkerer and likes to take apart his toys then maybe you should consider returning it.
When I'm buying for children, I always look for educational toys, something that will make them think and learn.

It's usually the paint it refers to as the same warning appears on all kinds of things - even ceramic mugs.

Some of the plastics contain lead. Same as with the cord on my memorex mouse.
Don't worry about it. Don't chew on it either!

it might be the batteries or the fumes that are extracted when the car "runs". maybe you should return it and consider getting him a different brand, or a different car...good luck
