I find hot honey and lemon drink to be helpful. Have it just before you go to bed to ease sleep.

Use this old gypsy recipe: Finely dice some onions and saute until they become translucent. Remove from heat and immediately add honey. Stir. Can be used warm or cool. I prefer room temp. This will coat your throat and it is completely natural.
I'm at work, so I don't have the recipe portions, but I would say you need 1 part onion and 3 parts honey. Store in refrig for up to a week.

I read that having a warm cup of tea and pouring some honey in it will soothe your throat--I tried it for a sore throat I had with a bad cold and it seemed to work, but when I had mono NOTHING helped. Throat lozenges may help ease the discomfort, too. Sore throats are terrible, I hope you feel better soon!!

If you've had this more than 3 days, go to the Doctors. You might have strep throat, and only a dose of penicillin will do the trick.
gargle with salt water, take Ibuprophen(not Tylenol).Hope you feel better soon.

You can mix cold medicine or benadryl with a little maloxx gargle it. The maloxx will coat your throat with the other medicine. Or try gargling warm salt water. If it's that bad, I would suggest you see a doctor.
