Satan was a covering cherub sent to take care of people on the earth. But like all of God's creatures was given free will.
When you give someone free will you take the chance they will choose the wrong way. Revelation 12:7 speaks of a war in heaven Micheal and his angels battled with the dragon [Satan] and his angels[ fallen angels] They joined with Satan and so were cast out of heaven soon to be abyssed. Revelation 20;
Tells how Satan will be abyssed and out of control of the earth..
But some people have went in the same course as satan and sinned against God. God has never left this earth without the knowledge of what is right and what is wrong. We have always had a bible.
In Luke Jesus was talking to him and he had asked are those being saved few. he said yes, narrow is the gate and few are the ones finding it.

Well, an actual being with horns, a tail and pitchfork--no. The concept of Satan and the Western image of what Satan looks like is based on the Greek gods Pan and Hades. There are stories of a fallen angel named Lucifer who decied to lead a rebellion against God, but he was cast out and was banished to Hell. Much of the modern concept of Satan and Hell comes from the Middle Ages. There are things in the world like evil, temptation, greed, and other sins and Satan is a way of dealing with those things.
Besides, if Satan really existed I would have sold him my soul by now to have my dissertation done.

Satan is a fallen angel of God. A third of all the angels followed Satan and are called the evil spirits. Satan is currently reigning on earth and will soon be defeated by the woman clothed in the sun (Mary our Blessed Mother). Truthfully Satan has no power over us ultimately if we do not give him that power but he is very very clever. That is why we must always stay on guard.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

The Devil does not exist. Like all things religious he was invented by humankind as a means to get people to live more socially by not committing sins. You are free to choose what you want to believe in. Religion is archaic and inflexible, it does not make any sense now that we are scientifically aware of how the world around us works.

It is, and he does. Satan was not 'made up' to scare people into religion, and besides, if that's how people use him, they are hypocrites, and aren't fooling God.
There are countless (like 900) verses about Satan, hell, The Devil, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness... etc
Satans not an ugly pigmy with a pitchfork and horns. In fact he's beautiful (Read Ezekiel).
That's how he decieves people. His inside is hideous and full of evil.

Satan is heaven's ruler, god is hell's ruler.
Nope, I don't believe it. They are two states of mind that people have restricted themselves to. I would rather not live in a world where there are only two ultimatums. That's absurd in many ways.
