I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there are no magic pills. :(

I don't mean that to sound trite, but it's true. The secret to weight loss is burning more calories than you take in. That's it, in a nutshell. The trick is to do it in a healthy manner.

Sometimes people miss the simple things--like, which takes more calories: Running 2 miles, or walking 2 miles? Answer: about the same. You are still covering the same distance. Now, running will get it done faster and get you more cadiovascular exercise, but you're burning similar amounts of calories (with a few exceptions--you might burn a few more from sweating, or from having a different running motion that walking, but they tend to be equal).

So, what good are pills? If you have problems controlling your appetite, there are appetite suppressants. I don't really recommend them, but they're out there. Some claim to increase metabolism, but are basically just caffiene to make you feel more energentic. There are other caffiene-mimmicking substitutes.

Portion control and steady exercise will help you more than anything else. Exercise for an hour a day will help raise your metabolism. Lift weights a few times a week. Muscle burns more calories at rest than fat, so putting muscle on will help you lose fat.

DO NOT TRY TO LOSE IT ALL AT ONCE. Crash dieting loses muscle and puts you into a starvation state where your body stores all excess calories. Eat small and frequent meals. Measure out portions so you know what you're eating, and can recognize how much you're eating when you go out to eat. Aim for 6 small meals during the day.

Drink a LOT of water, especially before meals. That can help you feel full before you eat, and reduce consumption. The water also helps speed up your system as it passes through quickly. Not to mention all the trips ot the bathroom during the day, lol.

Supplements are of more use in reducing exercise recovery time, in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend diet pills at all.

I use the walgreens brand call Xedraless. It promotes energy and helps you loose weight. You don't want to take it too late in the after noon though. I was on it for about 2 1/2 months and I lost 2 pants sizes...(of course I don't excersice or eat all that healthy either)

Hard cardio vascular exercise is a "diet pill" in itself. Hard exercise actually curbs appetite. If you eat well, without sugars and simple starches, and take vitamin suppliments your body wouldn't feel hungry. When people eat junk food, their bodies are actually being starved of essential vitamins, minerals and other essentials and will give one the hungry feeling.
