There was no other chance for us to be saved. He had to come to us in human form of course. He wanted to show us to love one-another. To sacrifice our selves to Him by way of allowing Him to show us the right path His path not peoples path, peoples way.His way to live. This life on earth is temporary. The afterlife is what counts. What we do on earth now we will be judged on and deal with in the afterlife. He is Judge and Jury. Not us.

This is the biggest lie that Satan uses to keep people from knowing who Jesus really is.

‘But isn’t Jesus called a god in the Bible?’ someone may ask. This is true. Yet Satan is also called a god. (2 Corinthians 4:4) At John 1:1, which refers to Jesus as “the Word,” some Bible translations say: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” But notice, verse 2 says that the Word was “in the beginning with God.” And while men have seen Jesus, verse 18 says that “no man hath seen God at any time.” (Authorized or King James Version) So we find that some translations of verse 1 give the correct idea of the original language when they read: “The Word was with God, and the Word was divine,” or was “a god,” that is, the Word was a powerful godlike one. (An American Translation) Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God. In fact, Jesus spoke of his Father as “my God” and as “the only true God.”

Did Jesus ever say that he was God? No, he never did. Rather, in the Bible he is called “God’s Son.” And he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” Also, Jesus explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that only God knew. (Mark 13:32) Further, on one occasion Jesus prayed to God, saying: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were the Almighty God, he would not have prayed to himself, would he? In fact, following Jesus’ death, the Scripture says: “This Jesus God resurrected.” (Acts 2:32) Thus the Almighty God and Jesus are clearly two separate persons. Even after his death and resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus was still not equal to his Father.

As for the “Holy Spirit,” the so-called third Person of the Trinity, this is not a person but God’s active force. John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with holy spirit, even as John had been baptizing with water. Hence, in the same way that water is not a person, holy spirit is not a person. (Matthew 3:11) What John foretold was fulfilled when, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, holy spirit was poured out on his followers gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says: “They all became filled with holy spirit.” (Acts 2:4) Were they “filled” with a person? No, but they were filled with God’s active force. Thus the facts make clear that the Trinity is not a Bible teaching. Actually, long before Jesus walked the earth gods were worshiped in groups of three, or trinities, in places such as ancient Egypt and Babylon.

It is not WHO he sacrified himself too but WHY he sacrificed Himself.

God had set up this means of sacrifice since the time of Moses. A pure white spotless lamb, without blemish, without sickness was to used on the Altar to sacrifice for our sins. The pure innocent blood of the sacrifice was used to cover our sins. Something had to be done to make up for our sin and this was the acceptable practice the Lord had set up.

Even back to the time of Adam and Eve leaving the Garden....the Lord slaughtered an innocent animal Genesis Chap 3. 21 The Lord God made clothes from animal skins for the man and his wife and dressed them.
The skins were to cover them, in a spiritual sense as well as physically.

In Genesis 15 the Lord makes this promise with Abraham. The custom of the area was if one party made a vow the other party made the same vow. If one party did not keep their side of the vow then their life would be taken.
God gives abraham specific instruction go get several animals, a dove, a pigeon, a bull, a cow, etc. He takes him to a place where two hillsides run together and lets the blood run into the tiny cavern. Both parties are to walk through the blood, signifying that they are to keep their side of the vow.
However the Lord causes a deep sleep to come over Abraham and the Lord does the walking through the blood for both He and Abraham. In essence saying, "If you humans do not keep your side of the now then I will take your burden upon myself. I will die for your sins"
All the way back in Genesis 15 about 1500 years before Christ came!

God saw that far down the road and knew what we were in need of to wash away our sins.

I see what you're saying and it looks like exactly what you are describing. If we look at things from a legalistic standpoint then we look at this scene and go "What?"

But it's about God knowing what we needed and taking our burden upon Himself because He knew that He alone had the power to take our sin and our death upon Himself and over come victorious.

Hope that helps some

You say that as though....You know nothing. You clearly don't have the time or desire to study the Doctrine of the Trinity. God (The Father) so loved the world, he sent his only (God the) Son, that all who believe in him may not perish, but live forever. God is One, but not Only One. God is Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. Jesus is God the Son. God the Father sent the Son. God the Father sent God the Son. God the Son is Jesus. The Son is Jesus. God the Father sent Jesus, who is God the Son, Son of God, The Son. Stop rejecting God and study the Doctrine of the Trinity.

The Trinity is three seperate that make up God almighty, God the Father ( the head of the Trinity) , God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It was the Son that was sacriced.

we will never be able to fully understand what exactly the Trinity is until the next life - Jesus is separate from the Father separate from the Holy Spirit but together they are one
the son needed to be sacrificed for us, He was in place of us the substitutary death for all mankind's sins - He sent his only son to suffer this shows us how much the Father loves us

The main reason Jesus permitted himself to be crucified was to give Satan enough "rope" to "hang himself" .... not to sacrifice himself to himself.

Satan had gained legal dominion over mankind as a result of Adam's sin.

The only way that dominion could be destroyed was through legitimate means, but due to sin, no natural man was qualified to become the sacrifice for sin.

So God sent his son.

No one had the right to take the life of a sinless man, let alone the son of God, but Satan couldn't help himself.

When Satan arranged the brutal death of the sinless Jesus, he exceeded his legitimate authority, and was properly judged for it, by God.

All that Satan had gained from Adam's sin was taken from him and awarded to the risen Christ, and mankind was once again free to choose God, over evil.

So, by allowing evil to do its' worst to him, Jesus provided evil with the divine instrument of its' own destruction, redeeming mankind from slavery to Satan, sin, and eternal death.

A true, atoning, propitiatory sacrifice, but not in the way most people think.

Now, the choice is yours.

You know, as much as I think the entire book is crap, I do not think that was intended to be taken that way. I can say "I am one with my wife" but it doesn't mean we are the same person. It is just an expression.

For people that say that I miss the point because the bible speaks and teaches in parables, it think they really missed the point on this one.

It is supposed to be that god sacrificed himself to man (human kind) because humans would not deserve to be in God's presence no matter what action they did. So God sacrificed himself.

Because the story was written thousands of years ago by sheep herders who wanted to take control of other people and invoke fear in them so they could rule over all.

Break the chain, free your mind. The first and last religion is and will be Atheism.
