I used to have a recipe that used butter, lemon and spices. you open up the pita and cut it into triangles and then spread the butter and spices on the pita and bake it. This recipe was great and I would love to find it. Thanks!

Baked Pita Crisps Recipe

Ingredients:
8 pita bread, cut in quarters
1/2 cup fresh parsley, minced
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt

Directions:

Cut pita breads in quarters and separate to make thin triangles. Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl and spread on pita triangles. Bake for 10-15 minutes in a 300 degree F. oven until toasted.

Garlic Pita Chips Recipe

Ingredients:
2 pita breads
4 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, crushed

Directions:

Heat oven to 350ºF.

Using a small knife or kitchen scissors, cut along circumference of each pita bread to remove folded edge.

Combine oil and garlic in a bowl. Brush each pita round with the oil and garlic mixture.

Stack the rounds and then cut into 8 wedges. Arrange wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until chips are golden brown.


Zesty Pita Chips Recipe

Ingredients:
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 pita breads (6 inch size) -- split

Directions:

In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, paprika and garlic powder. Cut each pita half into six pieces; place on an ungreased baking sheet. Spray both sides of wedges with nonstick cooking spray; sprinkle wedges with seasoning mixture.

Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, turning halfway through baking time. Cool on wire racks.

Nutritional Analysis: One serving (3 chips) equals 43 calories, trace fat (trace saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 81 mg sodium, 9 g carbohydrate, trace fiber, 1 g protein. Diabetic Exchange: 1/2 starch.

I'm not sure about that recipe.

But my dad makes pita crisps like this:

He cuts up tortilla bread into triangles.

He fries them in vegetable oil on the stove top.

Once he takes them out, he sprinkles them with cinnamon and sugar.

It's a great dessert snack! Maybe add some ice cream and hot fudge on top of them...yum....

I suggest that you cut the pita into wedges and place them on a cookie sheet, drizzle them with olive oil and a pinch of salt, add a clove of minced garlic. Then bake.
