Okay am i being selfish or am i doing the right thing. I recently talked about this guy i was dating and let borrow some money. Well he got a new place and called the cousin of mine that introduced us to contact me as i wasn't answering his calls. I finally decided to answer and he was telling me about the new house he just moved into and wanted me to come and spend the weekend with him, but at the same time he's telling me how much stuff he bought for his house and how he wanted me to go with him to pick out different stuff for his house. Now i'm thinking why would he ask me to go knowing that he owes me money and the simple fact that he hasn't said a word to me about it but always mentions to my cousin that he's gonna pay back my money. He's never mentioned it to me and i'm thinking i'm not going anywhere near him until he pays me my money. Is it selfish of me to think this way? Because after all he's on a shopping spree for himself!

No your not being selfish, just leery, and thats good, but i would be asking him why he cant pay you back, when hes got it to do and that this is keeping you from wanting to see him...just be honest and open with him...he needs to respect you!!

I'd be sure to mention next time you talk to him that since he apparently has enough $ to buy stuff for himself now, you'd like him to have a check ready for you and you'll go pick it up. OR--You could just say, "Hey, I'm a little short, could I borrow some money, since you seem to be doing so well...Oh WAIT, that's RIGHT, you owe ME money! Hey, I'll be right over to get it."

Don't play games. If you want your money back just ask for it. He shouldn't take it personal. Maybe he forgot. Who knows. Don't think the worst at first. If that's not the case don't let him borrow any more money, and decide if his friendship is worth having.

Actually, go with him and tell him that if he could spend money for himself, then he should use some of it to pay you back. Just exactly how much you lent him??

not at all!!! he should have realised by now that he owes you money, but he bviously doesnt hav a care in the world. his mind is focused on buying things and nothing else. just keep hinting and reminding him that he owes u money and he'll soon giv in!!

No it is not unreasonable, however, instead of being angry, you need to ask him for your money. Simply say to him it is nice you are shopping and buying all of these things and you want me to help you pick things out. However, when are you going to give me my money? God bless****

In this case, you're at fault. You need to say "I'm happy for you about the house, but I really need that $___ you borrowed. When can I expect it?"
You're not selfish, you're just being spineless.

Keep him close and ASK him for your money. It's obvious he's got it.
