There is no need to really separate Christians and Mormons. Jews follow the Old Testament and the others follow both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Jews believe Jesus was just a man (not the Messiah) and Christians/Mormons believe he was, and that only through Jesus, and his sacrifice, can we be saved. Where Mormons differ from many (not all) other Christian sects, is they don't believe in the Catholic created Trinity (made doctrine in 325 AD); Mormons believe God, his Son and the Holy Spirit are separate (you could argue both sides by using the Bible). Mormons also believe there is continue revelation on the Earth; just as God called prophets in the Bible he continues to call them today. There are other differences, but then there are many differences amongst each of the Christian sects.
As to whether it is a "sin" to be in a relationship with one of a different faith...Some Christians strongly believe this, as do many Jewish. Mormons encourage people of the same faith to marry, as they believe if you get married in the faith, in a temple, you will be sealed to your spouse for all eternity. I am Mormon, married to an agnostic, and I am very happy. You must make sure there is mutual respect between the parties and be comfortable with the idea they very likely will never convert to your beliefs. It will always be an added hurdle, because religion is a big part of many peoples lives. Be open, respectful and willing to communicate.
Good luck.

In the New Testament of the Holy Bible we are told as Christians, we should not be unequally yoked with someone that doesn't share our core beliefs.
This would be true if a Christian wanted to date a Mormon or a Jew.
Judaism and Christianity share and pray to the same living God.
Christians believe in the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and that Jesus is the Son of God and the Son of Man. Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. However there are some Messianic Jews and they believe Jesus is the Messiah. Both Jews and Christians are monotheists.
The Mormons do not have the same beliefs or teachings as the Christians. For instance, they are taught that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three different Gods. They are polytheists.
There are many other difference in Mormons and Christians, one would be in Rev. 22:18-21 (check out this scripture as it addresses the Book of Mormon.)
The gift of Salvation is laid out quit clear in the New Testament.
Hope that helps!

This is an interesting question. I used to study the life of someone named Alexander Neibaur, who was one of the first Jewish people to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He actually became Christian first, and then became Mormon. It's actually a very natural progression. Jewish people have the Torah and the Talmud. The Torah is like the first five books of the Old Testament, and the Talmud is rabbinical commentary on the Torah. See link below for more information. The Jewish people stop short of considering Jesus Christ as the Messiah or Son of God. The reason for that is because they were prepared very carefully for centuries to help bring about the Atonement of Jesus Christ with two sets of prophecies. One set of prophecies described the Messiah as a powerful leader who would establish peace and reign on the earth, with the covenant people (the Jewish people) to enjoy His protection and blessings. The other set of prophecies described how the Messiah would be killed by His own people. The Jewish people did not like that set of prophecies. After all, how would you like to be told that you were going to kill your own brother, when you had loved and served him all your life? So those prophecies were often removed from the records, and prophecies which were more difficult to understand were explained a different way. When Jesus Christ came, the small group of leaders in charge at that time could not believe He was the Messiah due to their interpretation of scripture, and ended up believing He was misguided and had committed blasphemy, even though He taught some great things as if He were any other rabbi. Now all Christians use the Old Testament and the New Testament and believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, the Redeemer of Mankind, and most are looking forward to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ (or the first coming of the Messiah to the Jews). The Mormons, or members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have a unique interest in Jewish history, culture, and traditions because we believe not only in the Old Testament and New Testament, but also the Book of Mormon. There are amazing Jewish cultural and linguistic parallels in the Book of Mormon, if you ever want to study more. I like W. Cleon Skousen and Hugh Nibley's commentaries on the Book of Mormon. As Mormons we believe that the awesome Jewish people had a unique role to play in the history of mankind, and they still have a unique role to play until the end of the history of this earth before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In some ways, becoming a Christian is like the honors class which is fulfilling the preparation the Jews received in ancient times, and becoming a Mormon is like the honors class of Christianity. There are, of course, amazing honors students in every sect in the world. It is not a "sin" to be involved with someone of a different faith, but unless you are willing to give up some aspects of your own religion, it would make a relationship or marriage difficult. For example, the Jewish people have their Sabbath or Shabbat on Saturday, not Sunday. Except for the Seventh Day Adventists, Christians worship on Sunday. Mormons also worship on Sunday. So just coordinating schedules could be an issue.

God worked with his children well before Abraham was born. Part of the covenant with Abraham is that all the families of the earth would be blessed through his seed. The israelites (which included Jews, and 11 other tribes) were chosen by God to establish the church and later the full gospel of Jesus Christ. After Christ died, Peter was commanded by revelation to take the gospel to the gentiles also. Later, israel was conquered and dispersed to all nations. Most people probably have israelite blood in them. Mainstream Christians today have the records that were preserved in the bible. These records were compiled around 400 AD by a committee of men. Most Christians strive to understand what God requires by studying these ancient records. Islam comes from the line of Ishamel which has always been at defiance of Ishmaels brother Issac and so still hates the Jews. Islam and most Jews do not accept Jesus Christ (Isalm broke off way before that) so they do not practice the Christian religion that Christ brought to earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) is a restoration by revelation of the early Christian church and is mostly dominated by the house of Joseph (a son of Israel that was sold into Egypt and saved his family from famine). One of the missions of this church is to take the gospel to the world, thereby continuing to bless the families of the earth through Abrahams seed.

The jews are God's chosen people. The Christians strive to obay the same God that made the covenant with Abraham establishing The Nation of Israel and begining the Jewish race.
Mormonisim is a manmade cult that is, in my opinion, and the opinion of many, a deception of satan. It is a great sadness that so many, otherwise good people, are decived by that cult.
For those who still cling to the mosaic law it is wrong or them to marry out of their faith. This also holds for those of The True Christian Faith. I believe that those in the mormon cult also do not aprove of marrage out side the cult.
There are Jews and Christians who are friends, and often very close friends... it is not . in my experience, and from observance for a long time, the case that a true mormon will be a true friend with any out side his cult.... they will be friendly to a point. But if they come to see that they can not "convert" you they will not be close as a friend should be. they can only be aquaintences with non mormons.

Jews do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah (Savior). Christians do. Mormons think that someday, if they work hard enough to get more people to become Mormons, they too will become a god. It's generally not a good idea to marry one of a different faith. To some, yes it's a sin.
