Stop dating unaffectionate, cruel men. I think you're silly to even give them the time of day.

Women are crueler, in my experience.
Men show affection, but not like women do. The difficulty is that women are looking for the type of men who act like women, and often those men do that expertly because (1) they're only after sex or (2) they're after something the woman has that they want -- money, the woman's children (some of the most horrible child molesters were always "great to the Mom"), (3) or they want dominating control of a woman.
Also, today's men weren't raised by their mothers any more but by day care centers. They learned how to treat women from film, television, and other media. Considering how only in romance novels (which men DO NOT read -- but sometimes write because they know women's psyches and how to make serious money from them) heroes are gushing dandies or super-manly men with deep soulful secretive loves for only one woman, men don't get socialized into romantic love like we do.
Since they also don't get taught by the primary sources love in their lives, of course they don't value love. It's okay because few women do, these days, either.

my boyfriend and i have been friends for years...and i have seen him with other girlfriends...When he was with them, he was always ultra affectionate, and i would think, wow...i want a guy like that.
Now we're together, and he is waaaay less affectionate with me, than he was with them. Sometimes it bothers me, so i asked him...he said he was in a very depressed state of mind then, and was using the physical affection to feel more loved and was holding on that. Maybe thats whats wrong with guys...they arent depressed? Men can be very weird about their affection...but now when i get the affection, i appreciate it much more.

Not all men are unaffectionate. If you are having trouble in your current relationship, and if your boyfriend is treating you "cruelly," you need to find a "man" who will treat you right. I am way more affectionate than my girlfriend. I give her back massages every night and when we sleep together, I hold her and stroke her hair and kiss her and tell her how beautiful she is. In return, she treats me with respect and trust. I love her, and I hope you find a man who loves you and treats you like a queen. Good luck to you.

im not cruel... just insensative...
but when i want to i can be sweet, nice, and sensative.... but only when im with my girl (sometimes).
