Clear rum and diet coke is 0 CARBS, but it still has calories. About 70 per oz. All alcohol is hollow calories, so it's not a good choice no matter what it is. Clear alcohols such as Rum, Vodka, Gin, Grain are the least (in that order). A close second would be light beers like coors light (any light beer made from RICE). Beer in general is a distant third (the darker the worse), and that is neck and neck with wine following the same rule. Darker beers like Porters and Stouts, Dark Hard liquor and liquers are the absolute worst thing. I'd suggest staying away from drinking altogether, as it's just more calories, makes it harder to work out, and gives you the munchies.

First of all it is totally erroneous that rum and vodka have 0 calories. Ethanol (alcohol) itself has a lot of calories. Alcohol also changes your metabolsm in ways that make you gain weight without providing any nutrients. One ot two drinks whether it is wine or beer won't affect your weight too much - but if you get drunk on anything on a regular basis you will gain weight if you're prone to it and you will have other health problems over time. People who drink 6 glasses of vodka or wine because it is less fattening than beer are deluding themselves.

definately wine is a good alternative.. first off beer has many carbs.. and bad carbs at that.. the kind tat sticks there and hard to burn off..
wine of course is much more natural.. less calories and healthier intake.. and best all it will give u the same great buzz.. maybe even sooner depending on which u get.. usually red wine has a higher alcohol content than white wines as pinot .. of course the cheap wine will definately give u a bad hang over.. due to the high content of impurities thus being cheaper.. the more expensive wines have a better taste and less impurities.. and will leave you a love for wine.. trust me..

Both vary widely. Trappist beers have alcohol contents in the same range as wine, but on average wines have about double the alcohol of beers, and that's the major calorie content. On the other hand, one typically drinks half as much wine as beer, so overall it's about a wash. Try diet sodas or tea.

A small glass of red wine has about 100 calories. Wine is an excellent alternative to beer as it is proven to be good for the heart and provide other health related benefits. That is, only if you drink sparingly. Experts suggest approx. one glass, three or four times a week. Health benefits will be reversed if you drink too much and your liver has to go into overdrive.

Doesn't matter. You obviously aren't a true beer drinker if you are trying to cut your calories by avoiding beer....you should be cutting calories by eating better foods, not quitting drinking beer...
Mic Ultra and Bud Select are supposed to have very few calories....

you can get low cal beer or low cal wine. I'd go with the low cal wine though, because of the flavinoids in the wine, I think that makes wine a healthier drink.
