I don't think I can spell this right but i am going to give it a try- psyriosis-sounds like sa-rie-a-sis. I get it all of the time. I first got it when I had my hair cut really short. I also heard that around my time of the month it would worse. I am almost sure that is what it is, but I am not a doctor.

I had this when I was younger.
It went away when I started washing my hair with Ivory soap and never applying any special treatments or conditioners to my hair ever again after that.
Nowadays I use the Old Spice body wash - not exactly a feminine thing, but I am sure that there is an equivalent for women. Just use that as the hair cleaner.
Wash the hair two to three times a day for right now to get the hair and scalp into condition. After about a month or so, go down to twice a day - once in the morning, and once just before going to bed.
Take all the current bedsheets, pillows and blankets and burn them. Buy all new ones.

Don't use any more selsun blue.
First, make sure her fingernails are trimmed very short, so she can't scratch.
Second, is it cradle cap? Are there dry scales covering her head and hair follicles?
Third, does she eat chocolate or drink colas during the day? If so, remove those things from her diet. Not because of any reaction, but because those things can cause agitation in kids, and can start nervous habits like scratching.
Okay...now for the gentle treatment:
Get a very mild shampoo for kids. I highly recommend Aveeno Baby wash/shampoo. It is great for a body wash, and you can use it in her hair. It smells like heaven, too!
Buy some baby oil.
Let your daughter get her hair wet then play in the tub for about 15 minutes (or longer if she normally does). Rub about a teaspoon of baby oil between your hands, then massage the oil into her hair and scalp, leave it in for a couple minutes, then use the aveeno babywash to wash her hair just once.
If you give her a bath at night, make sure her hair is completely dry before going to bed.
This should do the trick.

It sounds like cradle cap, although she might be a little too old for that. You NEED to wash her hair every single day and scrub her scalp really well. Put a little baby oil on her scalp, too. She needs moisture. The dead skin is just building up, causing dandruff.

I think it can be psoraisis, you can try this stuff called scalpicin but ask your doctor first because it may be a little strong, when using Selsun Blue use the medicated one.

my niece had the same problem, put baby oil on her head, and don't wash her hair everyday, you will just dry it out more. Hope that helps. Also for the sores and scabs on her head put neosporon on it. Sorry spelled it wrong.

Yes, this does sound like a bad case of psoriasis. (I probably spelled it wrong too). Your should take your daughter to a dermatologist.
