13:5. And that prophet or forger of dreams shall be slain: because he spoke to draw you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you from the house of bondage: to make thee go out of the way, which the Lord thy God commanded thee: and thou shalt take away the evil out of the midst of thee.

Is it saying that anyone who tries to turn someone away from Christianity should be murdered?

yes if it's in the OT. but in the NT Jesus said that it would be better for them to have a large stone tied around their neck and thrown into a lake then to mislead a christian--in other words if that person does not repent to Jesus, judgement day will be harsh!

No it does not. It is from the Old Testament and in the Torah. It merely says that Jews who do not believe and dishonor the community by adopting pagan beliefs and engaging in fornication must be killed. Remember that this was 3000 years ago (the old testament came long before Christ) and that Jews have long since abandoned this ideology. It is taken in a much more metaphorical context.

Let me see now,
This is from the OT.
The book is Deuteronomy.
The address is given by Moses.
The address is given to the Israelites.
They are the ones that had Aaron fashion a golden calf to be their god.
Moses has spent 38 years with them as they walked through the wilderness and listened to the moanings and complaining against God for 38 years.
At one time God was going to kill them all, but Moses reasoned with him and he did not destroy them.
Now they were close to entering the land that God had promised them, and Moses is giving them sermon after sermon encouraging them to do what is right for the right reasons.
Here Moses is saying that those who try to pull them away one more time should be killed, because they were interfering with God's plan for His chosen people.

He was not referring to someone from a different religion trying to convert them to their religion. The people who were drawing them away from God were from their own people. There were no other influences in the dessert. Just those from within.

depends on who is reading it. It sounds like it is saying that people who try to convert you away from Christianity shoul be murdered to me, but then the bible says a lot of stuff like that.
