Maybe you are retaining water. Sounds crazy, but if you don't drink much water, you retain it. Try increasing your water intake. I'm about 7 weeks prego, but don't feel 'fat' yet (Thank God!). I feel blah all day, except if I eat saltines and drink water before I even get out of bed. Try to keep some food on your stomach and you probably won't feel so bad. I feel better after I eat, even though I really have no appetite. You'll get cravings after the first trimester. Just try not to eat TOO much, get exercise if you can (they say walking is good), it supposedly makes labor and delivery better. Also, waterbirthing is supposed to be REALLY better than the usual labor and delivery thing, might want to look into it. I am. Good luck! :)

It might be the baby. I never really started showing until about 4 months, but my mother was in maternity clothes in less than 6 weeks with both my brother and me. Her doctor told her to be more careful about her weight. However, she only gained about 1 pound in the third trimester each time. With my brother she gained a total of 18 pounds during the whole pregnancy (before birth), he was almost 7 pounds, and she lost an extra 10 within a week. With me, she gained about 22 and lost an extra 4 or 5, and I was a little over 6 1/2 pounds. It just depends on your body. Don't try to lose weight while you're pregnant. I'm sure your baby and you are fine. Don't cut back on food, especially if you're already not eating much, just make sure the food you eat is healthy, lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and water.

Every women experiences thier pregnancy differently and even differently from pregnancy to pregnancy. Stay in tune with your own body. There are lots of great resources out there both on the web and at your local library. Many experience nausea and other digestion problems. One reason for this is the body begins to absorb the food slower so that your digestive track slows down. One way to combat this is not to eat less but to eat smaller portions more often. Congratulations and good luck.
