I know that the restaurant that makes Cinnamon buns so tasty is called Cinnabon, but when referred to in everyday conversation, i have found that there is great dispute over the proper name calling of this treat. Thanks!

A Cinnamon Bun is a Cinnamon Bun. It appears Cinnabun is becoming a word such as band-aid.

Neither.
The corporation who owns the trademark cinnabon made up that name to make themselves distinct from all the other cinnamon buns. If you mean their particular buns, then call them the ones from cinnabon.
The generic name for all cinnamon buns is "cinnamon buns". All other permutations are just trade names and they pay extra money to make sure that only their buns be called with that name.

Cinnabon is actually the name of a company who's namesake is a copyrighted item. A company which advertised that they sell Cinnabons without the permission of the Cinnabon company is in BIG trouble.

A Cinnamon Roll is a "log" which is then cut into pieces which have different names depending on where you live. The pieces are often called cinnamon rolls (Pillsbury uses this name) or cinnamon buns, but I am certain that many places have local names. My wife (who <3 Cinnabon) calls them Cinna-bombs!

YOu can call it really what you want but the "Cinnabon" is actually a franchise that specializes in cinnamon buns and other various items. The roll that made them famous was a Warm dough, filled with our legendary Makara® Cinnamon, topped with freshly made cream cheese frosting. http://www.cinnabon.com/experience/index.html

The english combination of both words would be cinnabun, but i think the company is using the word bon instead of bun on purpose, cause bon is "good" in french.
