I know what MSBP is. I'm looking for more of what happens later in life to the victims. Do they become perpetrators? What is there mental status? etc.

The victims are their children. Their children will be sent to the hospital more often than other kids their age for nausea/diarrhea (from poisening), bruises, scrapes, broken bones (inflicted by the parent). The parent does this to get attention. The parent needs counseling and treatment.

Some of us survive, not knowing exactly the abuse that has been lifelong (with triggers, peaks, and periods of dormancy. It definitely screws one up, especially upon learning that your parent would rather sicken, put you in harm's way, (or, even kill you. Yup, that's a hard pill to swallow. You feel like there's an explanation to the chaos that's occurred -- and that's something of a relief. It's also a source of mourning -- those years were but a House of Cards, and often being the prime years of one's life, you also realize how much of your life you've lost to anxiety, odd intuitions, etcetera. Then if the memory is fully active, watch out: you are now a victim of PTSC as well, and flashbacks are real & frightening. But you try to stay spunky and constantly fight the nest of isolating. You'll be damn lucky if anyone is REALLY willing to help you, much less believe you. I wasted a decade believing SOME agency, some attorney, maybe a political figure even, might listen to The Story and address the perpetrator. As for MY having the disorder: I cannot fathom hurting any of my children. I am their ally no matter what, and being a mother involves a certain number of sacrifices. You don't have children to get attention. That's narcism squared.

This is a disorder in which a person in a parent creates or fabricates illnesses in the person they care for in order to get attention. They w

There are two "victims" so to speak - the person who has the disorder, and the child.

What happens to the parent and the child both can vary widely.

The parent can, if they end up hurting or killing the child, go to jail and/or lose the child. They might also receive counseling and treatment.

The child could be killed or harmed physically and emotionally, and may also both physical and emotional treatment.

*Note - though this typically is a disorder involving a parent abusing the child, it could also be any person that cares for another, such as a child caring for an elderly parent, or a sibling caring for another sibling.

Edit - to your added details -

Abuse in all forms creates a higher likelihood (though not in any way a guarantee) that the abused will themselves become an abuser, and MSBP is abuse.

Well they get abused in various ways. The parent who's doing it [almost allways the mother] trys to hurt the victim in order to be seen- by health professionals etc- as a loving caring parent.

Anything can happen. This is where parents will abuse and even sometimes kill their children just to get attention for themselves. So they will do things like make them stop breathing by suffocating them just so they can run them into the emergency room. Or inject them with things that make them sick so they have to be in the hospital. It's really insane.

If they're lucky, they recover and will be fine. They could develop post-traumatic stress disorder, or have long-lasting mental problems if they're not helped by a psychiatrist.
