Brooklyn Heights is very nice. However, I live in Park Slope & love it. So many places to Dine, the trains are right there & it's so close to Prospect Park. I can't imagine leaving my neighborhood.
Bottom line, check out a few spots & the right one will stand out to you. It's about being comfortable.
Best of Luck.

I think that Park Slope is a more interesting area; the people are more interesting and there is some great architecture there. The grocery shopping and the restaurants are cheaper. Brooklyn Heights is about four subway stops closer to Manhattan. To me, the less expensive rent, restaurants and groceries outweighs saving ten minutes. Transportation in the Slope is better, more bus and train lines running there.
Of course, if you can get an apartment in the Heights overlooking the Promenade forget everything I've just said. For that view, I would be willing to pay a lot more.

i trust drew that the significant drag of Brooklyn Heights is Montague highway, so bypass examine it out and word if this is adequate for you. yet there are also 2 more advantageous streets which have nightlife and procuring: Atlantic highway, between the waterfront and court docket highway, this is the southern fringe of the Heights, and court docket highway from Borough hall right down to Atlantic highway. court docket highway must be considered to be the eastern fringe of the Heights, and has a large Barnes & Noble and a multiplex cinema. Atlantic highway has a collection of Arab and different eating places, the Chip save fish and chips pub, a food market on the nook of Clinton highway, and Sahadi's center eastern ingredients save. Prospect Park is a lot of relaxing, and also you do have Prospect Park accurate there, and this is in elementary words about 10 more advantageous minutes farther away than Brooklyn Heights. of route, Park Slope is a larger section. Prospect Heights remains "up-and-coming", so i ought to assert, in case you do not ought to bypass there, do not. the in elementary words 3 issues that are large about Prospect Heights are having the Brooklyn Public Library significant branch, the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic backyard interior strolling distance. for my money, i ought to stay in Brooklyn Heights. i ought to by no skill lose interest of only sitting on the prom...

Which trumps which--do you want to live less expensively but with a longer commute, or do you want to pay more to live closer to where you need to be? Personally I love the Heights, and Dumbo, which is close by, is becoming a really fun neighborhood. Plus you can daily walk/jog the Brooklyn bridge for relatively safe free exercise/people watching--always a plus.
