I have dated several white men although not all at the same time! ;)
Anyway, some white men have said that they are too nervous to approach black women and ask them out because they think they will get rejected. Why do you (white guys) think black women are any more likely to reject you than other races of women? What is it that is so intimidating to you about black women? Do you find black women attractive? If so, which black women in the public eye appeal to you?

1) America is one of the most racist, industrialized countries I know of. Unlike you, many people here just tolerate each other. Too many whites in America still have an underlying superiority complex over the entire human race. The younger generation (20s) of whites are mainly afraid of being ostracized by their family and peers for bringing a black man home to meet the parents. As generations pass, this complex grows dimmer and dimmer (fortunately). 2) Blacks are still too often portrayed in a negative light inside the US. Just look at a few rap videos and listen to the language used. Also, look at the women and men portrayed by hollywood and major magizines and major retail ads (tv and print) nothing but white men and women with a token black sprinkled here and there. This is their view of what you should want. 3) America as a whole sets up additional obstacles for blacks to overcome. Blacks are 50% less likely to receive a call for a job interview based solely on having a black sounding voice or name. Blacks are 50% more likely to be shown real-estate in poor performing markets. Blacks are 75% more likely to be arrested for the same offense as their white counterpart. Blacks are 75% more likely to serve a jail sentence for the same offense as their white counterpart. Blacks are 85% more likely to suffer from police brutality. Then people wonder why their lot in life is disproportionately worse off than their peers. I should know. I've been black all of my life. ...and yes, I can verify every statistic I've stated for anyone basking in deep denial. Good question.

I find some black women to be just as attractive as white women. Namely, I like the ones with a lean petite body type (like I look for in all races, actually). I can't think of any black women in the public eye like this off the top of my head, except for a couple of reporters on the local news here. You wouldn't know them.
Why are white guys afraid to approach black women? Well, some are afraid because they just don't like black women, or are afraid that their families will disapprove. Some are afraid that those black women prefer black guys over white guys and don't want to be embarrassed. If you notice a white guy that seems to like you and you like him too, you should probably ask him out because that fear of rejection could be keeping him away. Good night!

I don't believe race is the issue here...There are black men who are afraid to approach black women also...as far as black women being ghetto...that's not a race issue either, ghetto has nothing to do with race...there are many prominent black successful women as there are in other races...
I honestly believe the bottom line is fear of the unknown, which the individual themselves would have to come to terms with through soul searching...
I am very much attracted to white men and have yet to approach one because of my own uncertainties...which I chose not to discuss here...but I promised myself to overcome that someday in the near future...07, perhaps, I've been single now for five years and that's my interest...oh well, there's my two cents...thanks

I don't think is intimidating the issue is reality about how people will look at them because they are dating a different skin color that's all is allots issues that make that difficult approach to a person that is not like them in skin color, language, etc you name it...Attractive to me goes for any one that is attractive doesn't matter what skin color or language that person have... Attractive I won't say is just the skin that person is in...There are very beautiful attractive ones all over the world, don't matter who they are...Let me tell you I am latin gal from Espana Allots times people ask me if I am Penelope Cruz or at least related and white males is what I date and don't intimidate language accent of my....I know 6 languages and So I think you most be beautiful person and thats why they are kind scare never never think that because you skin color is diferent thats why the maybe intimidates them is just diferent for them it always will be that way...

I wait until the black women approaches me. Respectfully and unfortunately, I think it has to do with color. I believe that I typical black women is going to be attracted to a black man before being attracted to me. So I don't engage.
I think black women are gorgeous and might be just a little more likely to go forward with their interest and curiosity as opposed to white

its the media, they are the ones that make black women seem loud mouthed and ghetto, and say "that's what i'm talkin' about"
look at most music today sung by black women, it usually has a "ghetto" rhythm even if it's not rap music. destiny's child comes to mind with their song soldier.
the media really needs a culture shock!

I'm not a guy, but I'll answer this b/c I've heard them talk. Its how a black woman carries herself. Most men can be intimidated by a woman who has self-esteem. Black women are known for not taking crap, especially from men. I hope this has helped.

i never felt any more nervous asking out a black woman than any other race. Because as Bill Cosby said "A good woman is like a good cigar, Round and Browned."
