Your question is framed incorrectly. Illegals cannot join our military ranks and there is no provision for such a thing. The true question is should the military provide a path to citizenship through service in our military? Answer, absolutley; it's one of several paths to citizenship for immigrants.
Illegal immigration is criminal and should not be so casually accepted among the (seemingly majority) population of legal citizens. A nation of laws is nothing if not resolute.

If they are willing to fight for this country, they are doing more than most for this country. Most people aren't willing to make that sacrifice. If they serve honorably then they earned their citizenship as far as I'm concerned.
