Nothing. Notice that the immigrants are people that "migrated" from their (foreign) country to this (or any other for that matter). A foreign legal resident is when they have reached the status of legality. but they will always be immigrants for the rest of their life as long as they remain in this country.
that said, an immigrant will always be a foreign resident, and the "legal" thing would be their status (can legally work and enjoy the full government benefits).

illegals don't belong here, they don't understand our country , our laws and most can't speak our Lang. I have non thing against legals who are here legally.Just the illegals, who are sucking this nation dry! America has laws and illgeals need to follow it!
