i have light olive skintone but for some reason the skin on my face is completely diff. color, its very red and in the summer, i get tan all over the rest of my body except my face only gets red. sometimes it is blotchy red spots and it has been getting worse this week (especially in winter). is there any treatment you can get for this? is it a skin condition or maybe there are less skin layers on my face causing it to be red and sensitive? thats what i think, but im not entirely sure so im asking. thanks

You may have a skin condition called rosacea that causes redness of the skin (especially in the facial area). The best thing you can do is to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist and see if that's what it is, if it is then there are things they can do to help.

Well let me start by saying that you should go and see a dermatologist. But you can reduce redness by using the same skin regimin twice daily. I also have oily olive toned skin. I use the brand Dermalogica. I use that clay based cleanser and an oil free moisturizer. Both help to reduce my redness. Also you can get specially designed masks made to help reduce redness.

Good luck, and happy holidays.

I'm not entirely sure i understand what you're describing, but i know there's a condition called keratosis pilaris. you can look it up on google images. There are varying degrees of it, but it sounds like maybe that's what you're talking about.

I have it on my upper arms. not horribly, but it's there and I don't like it. I saw a dermatologist about it. She said it's a hereditary dry skin condition, and there isn't a whole you can do about it, but lotions with alpha hydroxy are helpful.

So, i had a horrible time finding lotion with alpha hydroxy. I found this cleanser though, St. Ives Renew and Firm apricot scrub. It's less than $3, and it totally works. You have to put it on and leave it on for a few minutes. what i do is just paint it on my arms before i get in the shower, and leave it on while i brush my teeth and wait for the water to head up. Then you just rinse it off, and use good lotion after your shower. It takes a few weeks, and you have to use it daily, but it definetly worked for me, and the two other people i've suggested it too.

You can get it about anywhere. I know my walmart has it. It's less than $3, so you really don't have much to lose.

Check the ingredients of your vitamin pills. Niacinamide will make your skin reddish, or at least too much of it. Also your make up and lotions for that same ingredient.
Alcohol will also make your skin react that way. Maybe you use a face cleanser that contains alcohol. Change into a water based cleanser.

There are many conditions that could cause this. Go see a dermatologist (skin doctor) for an accurate diagnosis and prescription treatment.

You really need to read "Rosacea Free Forever" by Laura Taylor (also available in electronic format here: http://www.rosaceafreeforever.info ). It's about how to permanently cure your Rosacea naturally. I cured my Rosacea permanently in only 4 days after reading this.

Stop paying paying each month good money on creams. This is exactly what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to do! They want to milk money from you each month.

It sounds like rosacea and a dermatologist can prescribe several things for it.

You may suffer from a skin condition called Rosacea. A friend of mine had it.
