I found a very unique bridal gown, bought it yesterday at $600.00, came home and looked up the brand online and found out that it was a prom dress sold online for $300.00. Im very dissapointed for some reason! I feel like a made a poor choice and of course cannot be returned! Still I love the dress but cannot get over the fact that somebody might find out that it is Prom dress. What would you do????

You have to ask yourself what you want to do. We can't make that decision for you. If you are going to spend the days up to your wedding regretting your decision and stressed about it, then get another dress. If it's making you miserable, then that's unacceptable. Sell the current dress on an auction site or donate it to charity and take a hefty tax deduction.

However, the most realistic thing to do would be to wait a few weeks and see if you don't care anymore. Time changes things and what you focus on now might be secondary and forgotten about later. So if you loved the dress to begin with, then get back into that state of mind. You chose this dress as "the one", so remember that. There are lots of wedding dresses that look like prom dresses and vice versa - don't worry too much about it. : )

Honey - my prom dress was WAY nicer then my wedding dress, lol. If YOU love the dress, and it is a dress YOU want to wear for your wedding - it is a wedding dress. Sure, you could have gotten it cheaper, but that is water under the bridge at this point since you already spent the money.

Besides, I have seen prom dresses that are MUCH fancier then some of the things that are sold as wedding dresses today, lol.

All that matters is that you like it. Plus if you thought it was a wedding dress I am sure everyone else at the wedding will think it's a wedding dress too. If you are really stressing over it and they won't let you return you might be able to take it to a steamstress and she might be able to alter it to look more like a wedding dress. Maybe she can put white lace over the dress or add some buttons to the back, if she is really good she might even be able to change the cut of it. Good luck and Congrats!

There are many wedding gowns that are prom dresses; it's just that no one knows.
And chances are, your dress might be a prom dress design, but the material is that of bridal gown quality.
Since you love the dress, wear it with the confidence that you will look stunning on your wedding day; radiant inside & out.

Congratulations!

You bought it as a wedding gown and you'll wear it as a wedding gown. Who cares if it's suppose to be a prom dress.
Yes it's frustrating that you paid so much more for the dress.

When i was looking for a dress, i didn't care if it's called a wedding gown, prom dress, casual dress, social occasion dress.
I just want something that I think is beautiful and I want to wear.
I'm getting married in a bridesmaid dress that i found on the internet which our local bridal shop carries.

Oh and do you have a link to the dress on the internet. I'd love to see what it looks like!

Be happy! You are getting married!
And congratulations!

A few years back Miss Louisiana won wearing a dress she paid $25 for. She simply added a few little things to make the dress special to her. All the other girls where wearing dresses they paid hundreds of dollars for. The most important thing is you like it. It is your day! Wear it and be proud.

If I was you I wouldn't care what people think about you dress they aren't the ones that is going to wear the dress, you are.

If you think you made a bad choose see if you get another dress to wear, beside the one you got. you can wear one in reception and the before that

Don't worry about it. If you love it than that is all you need to know. It is your wedding and you should wear the dress you love.
