As a former smoker, I have to say that it is a turn-off when I see anybody smoking, regardless of gender. We have all the information about the dangers of cancer, emphysema, poor blood circulation, and overall just poor health. In fact, although I quit nearly three years ago, after ten years of smoking, I am still dealing with breathing problems and chest pains in the morning or when I work out. Asthma medication does not help. I may have to look forward to this for the rest of my life, and I am not even 30!
Smoking is being banned everywhere from New York to Ireland because we know of all these risks. I think that anybody that ignores all of this clinically proven knowledge, and encoouragements from national, county, and local government, and continues to smoke, just looks stupid. And that is a turn-off.
Plus, it stinks!

Yes, or anyone. With all that we now know about the dangers and unpleasantries of smoking, why is anyone still smoking. There are no benefits from using tobacco products. Yes, I know it's hard to quit, I did it myself. It can be done. It stinks and it kills people, even people who dont smoke themselves. I hat going somewhere and then having to smell like someone elses cigarettes. What are good reasons to smoke? I can't think of any.

It can be a turn off if a guy or girl smokes cigarettes. Nobody wants to kiss an ashtray

I don't think for you or me or anyone else to decide whether or not a person smokes - people smoke for many different reasons and it is up to them how they wish to spend their money.

Having said that, I personally find it a turn off as I am a non smoker - but many of my friends don't as they are smokers to varying degrees.

By the way I think the banning of smoking in certain open public areas (such as in the street) is ridiculous and some of these smoking booths you see in airports are so humiliating!

I don't necessarily think it's a turn of for a girl to smoke. I would never smoke my boyfriend would shoot me. I think the turn off weather male or female is kissing. It's like kissing an ashtray. Yuuuk....My x smoked, my boyfriend does not and there is a hugh difference in kissing an ashtray and kissing a clean mouth.

I smoke occasionally when I'm out for a drink and usually find that a lot of men smoke anyway so if they're smoking why shouldn't I? I have never found anyone stop talking to me because I light up.

It is a turn-off when anyone smokes cigarettes. I understand it is an addiction, but I wouldn't go out with anyone who smoked. Health considerations aside, I don't want the smoky smell in my hair and on my clothes.

And Haily made the best point of all ... why would anyone want to kiss an ashtray.

yes, do you want to kiss an ashtray? I used to smoke but my best friend -who was a hot guy- didn't like it and I stopped cold turkey for him. Even though I haven't seen him in years ( I moved away) I'm so glad I did. I thought it was cold the first few times, but it really does become addictive and it changes who you are. I started becoming elusive and cranky if I didn't smoke at certain times.

It depends on the person. If they are a smoker themselves or not. I have a friend that refuses to kiss a girl, even if she were the hottest girl he has ever met. Hope you in for a lot of quickies and get the hell outs. I personally am a smoker and really don't care. it would be nice to chew a piece of gum once in a while, it helps. If you are cute enough, I'd kiss you if you were packing a lipper (chew).
