You would have to lose approximately 1.5 pounds a day. It is possible through incredibly hard work, but not very healthy! 3500 calories are in a pound, so you would need to burn 5250 calories a day. I think the better question is how many inches you need to lose. By exercising, you increase muscle, which weighs more than fat, but you will look leaner.
This website will calculate calories in food and calories burned in exercise:
http://www.fitday.com/
It's a very good tool for weight loss in conjunction with the "hackers diet" method.
http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet
Finally, another key to raising your metabolism, other than increasing muscle mass, is to eat small amounts of food more frequently. Make sure you only eat nutritious foods, eat a good breakfast to jump start your metabolism and break your meals up into smaller meals.
Fiber and water are your friend. So, no excess sugar, fats, carbs! SORRY! Try to eat whole foods or maybe even switch to a vegan, macrobiotic or raw diet for the 20 days.
Keeping a food diary is very important, and a pedometer is also useful.
Some really crazy people do the "master cleanse" or lemonade diet. You will probably lose those 20 pounds, but be absolutely miserable. It's very unhealthy, and you'd gain it back.

The most weight you can lose safely is 1-2 pounds per week. Can you lose 20lbs in 14 days? Yes.... However, you will gain the weight back plus more.
Diet (eating too little calories) is a guarantee weight loss failure. Your body needs calories to survive. If your body does not get enough calories to sustain life, your metabolism drops to protect itself. Will you lose weight with dieting? Yes…. However, it is not a permanent weight loss. You will eventually gain the weight back plus more.
When you diet, you will lose weight, which consist of water weight, muscle weight, and maybe a little fat.
I am sorry but there is no short cut to weight loss. It requires persistence and hard work. If you want to lose weight safely and effectively, I outline the some general tips.
1. Exercise (resistance training): Lifting weights can add muscle to your body. Your metabolism is highly correlated with how much muscles that you have. Your muscle is where fat is being burned.
Basically, the more muscles that you have, the higher your metabolism, the more calories that you can burn even when you are sleeping. That is why 255-pound bodybuilder can eat more than 5,000 calories a day because of the amount of muscle that they have. They need to eat a lot just to maintain their muscle.
Here are some exercises that will give you the best bang for your time.
Squat, Dead lift, lunges, Military press, Push-up, Bench Press, Lat Pull Down, Pull-up, Row, etc. Focus in multi-joint movement to involve more muscles.
2. Aerobic training: One way to boost your metabolism so that you are burning more calories is through interval training. Interval training consists of alternating between high intensity and low intensity training. For example, jog for 2 minutes to 30-second sprint. Repeat for 20 minutes.
Interval training is much more effective that steady state cardio e.i. 30 minutes running with the same speed. Interval training allows you to burn more calories while reducing your time.
3. Supportive Eating: Eating smaller meals through out the day can help boost your metabolism. Eating smaller meals every 3 hours helps fuel your body. Think about it for a second. I am sure that you know someone who eats all the time and yet are lean and you probably know someone who eats very little and yet the person is fat.
These tips alone can help you a lot of you follow my guidelines. Remember, losing weight too fast will not be a permanent weight loss. Take your time and commit to eating better and exercising and you will eventually lose that weight.
Quick tips: Limit your sugar, saturated fat, and hydrogenated fat. Drink plenty of water.
Good luck
In your health,

Unless you are over 100 lbs overweight, you can't.
If you watch Biggest Loser, those people work out for 4hrs a day and are about 100-150 lbs overweight and they lose only 5-12 lbs a week. AND they are suprivised by a professional.
So if you aren't that big, it's going to be very difficult. The maxium amount of FAT an overweight person (at most 40lbs overweight) can lose is probably around 3 lbs in a week. Those who lose more than that are usually losing mostly muscle and water weight.
If you diet too much (eat to little) your body stores its fat and drops your metabolism (it goes into starvation mode).
If you exercise too much, your body can produce excess cortisol, a stress hormone that stores fat.
Also, by losing 20lbs THAT fast, you can end up with stretch marks and loose skin. Eep.

As pointed out, it probably depends on your starting weight. I am roughly a 200 pound male, and have lost this kind of weight in less than 2 weeks, and didn't find it to be difficult, but that could just be me. It is actually safe (and good for you if not overdone) to fast for 2 to 3 days, but you must do it for at least 2 days or your metabolism will simply account for the lack of food and slow down even further. I can drop 10 pounds in 2 days doing this, and the fasting actually makes me feel pretty good, but only because I am accustomed to it - for one who has never done this they may get (and not like) the stomach/hunger pains, but they don't last.

ummmm... it depends on your body I guess. One of my friends on the heavier side can lose 15 pounds in less then 2 weeks. Thats because most heavy set people can loss a massive amount of weight in a matter of weeks, but after that it takes FOREVER just to lose 5. So im not too sure. But either way if your going to lose 20 pounds in two weeks it probably would be doing it in an unhealthy way and I just wouldnt advise that.

I'm not sure that it is possible and if it is it will be very unhealthy. A healthy amount of weight to lose is 3-5 pounds a week. Eating atleast 6 small meals a day and doing cardio.

Eat handiest when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing instead of water in between. Incorporate a lot of raw veggies and fruits in each and every meal, ideally 50%. Chunk each morsel at least 32 times to spark off ur physique to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these alerts. Take mild exercises and brisk walks almost always preferably twice a day. U will achieve what u have no longer even dreamt and that too in a cheap time. Do not be in a hurry.

If you're that fat, and need to lose 20 pounds in 14 days, shouldn't you have started on your diet 2 months ago?

Possible? Yes. But what you would have to do to yourself to make it happen would be worse than being 20 lbs over weight. You would have to run 8-10 miles in the morning and do it again in the evening. Nothing to eat but whole grains, lean protein and vegetables. That's it.
