I bought a wedding planner first, then I bought bride magazines.
The rings, dress and the details all fit right into the planner....so don't stress!!!! It all will come together. The dress is something you start looking for from the beginning, whether or not, you get that first......
CONGRATS!!!!! and enjoy planning!

The first thing we paid for was the ceremony site. The first thing I purchased was my dress. Don't worry about the undergarments until after you've chosen the dress. Otherwise, you may end up with the wrong kind. The other things you need to book IMMEDIATELY besides the stuff I mentioned here are the officiate, reception site/caterer, and dj. Then move on to your bridesmaid dresses and get them ordered. Off buy them off the rack; that will save time. Happy planning!

Okay don't stress!!! Well I would go for the dress before the undergarments, becasue you don't know what kind of bra you'll need because you don't know how your dress is going to look.. The first first frist thing to do , is PICK A DATE, second check to see where you want to get married and see if they have that date available, you should do the big stuff first, reserve halls for the reception, then I would go looking for your dress, and your bridesmaid dresses, it will all start to come together dont stress, this is supposed to be the happiest time of your life.... oh and CONGRATS!!!!!

I just bought my dress first. You can get your undergarments were you get your dress at. They normally get a bra and a slip for you to try on with your dress. So if you like the ones they pick out for you I recommend that you get them then that way you have the ones that you know will look good with your dress. Also a good thing to do is go shopping and decide on your colors and what kind of decorations that you want and just write down your prices and everything that way you can figure up your budget and also when you go back to actually purchase them you know what you liked and picked out.

If you are pressed for time then you should secure a wedding date and a location first and foremost. After that everything else will fall into place. Typically next would be your dress (during which you purchase your undergarments at the same time), photographer, florist, DJ/Entertainment, Rings, Invitations, etc.
Hope that helps!

I think one of the first things I bought was my wedding dress, then the bridemaid dresses, the bridemaid gifts (I got necklaces and earrings for them to all wear so they'd match), then picked out the grooms tuxes, got my bra and panties after I got my dress because you want to know the cut of the dress before you buy those. Get your invitations soon, make the date and send them out, you want to give your gusets time to respond so you can plan accordingly to the amount of food and seating you need. Get your registry done, registering at Target and Walmart is so easy, I only have registered in those places but I'm sure you can register other places if that isn't your taste. Good luck.

The first thing we did for our wedding was booked the place, time and date to make sure we knew when and where we were going. Then I went after my gown, getting my undergarments with it. My husband of course waited last minute to order their tuxes. The best thing to do is to create a planner and sit down with your husband-to-be and determine the priority of things. Theknot.com offers a planning guide telling you what should be done within so many months of the planned date so everything is done in a timely manner and there's room for error. Congrats and Best wishes!

I got my dress first. What you should do is pick the dress, then buy the undergarments. That way you can see exactly what you'll need. Don't get overwhelmed, enjoy it honey, get all the help you can to make it special! If you have any questions, you can write me, I'll help with whatever I can.

The dress.... plus you won't know what type of undergarments you'll need untill you get the dress.. What bra- halter, strapless ect.... and my dress had a built in tool shirt and slip so I didn't even need the hoop skirt or the slip!!
The dress basically sets the stage and then everything else follows the mood.

The first thing that you need to do is find a church and a reception hall. Those need to be booked 9-12 months out. Start looking around at dresses and bridesmaid dresses online. theknot.com has a photo gallery with a ton of pictures of dresses, flowers, centerpieces, etc. Congrats and have fun planning! I'm planning mine too! :)
