Is he trying to gain some attention? Is he getting a big response from you when he does this? If he is, stop. Hold him responsible for the clean up. When he soils himself, say to him "It looks like you need to change." He can shake his poop out into the toilet, rinse them out, put them into a bag and into the hamper, clean his body (take a bath if necessary), and put on clean clothing. If he is not getting attention for this and he is held responsible for the clean up, he will soon learn it is much easier to use the bathroom. Hope this helps!

stand him up in the tub and tell him to stand there until you are ready to clean him and give him a bath...leave his clothes on so he can feel the poop. Just act like you are cleaning or something and tell him you are going to finish doing what you are doing then you will come and take care of him...be nice but give it about 15 minutes, then clean him. I bet he will stop pooping then.

Just treat it as a normal occurrence and no additional fuss about it and he should grow out of it
