The best way for you to settle this situation is to simply talk to her. It can not be belittling to her in any respect (such as her lifestyle) which means that you have to give her full respect while you tell her your point of view.
At the same time, you cannot degrade yourself of your pride or put yourself lower than her anytime during the conversation. -This includes half-begging, half-whining voice tone and inflection.
All you have to do is tell your pov directly about how her walking wakes you up at night. Be genuine, always look her in the eyes when talking, give her full attention if she wants to say her pov, but most importantly, you have to state that settling this situation is important for you. You can even show her that you asked this question here to try to settle this problem. But what's important is that you tell her that you are annoyed by this problem and that you will appreciate her effort if she tries on her behalf to minimize the creaking as much as possible. You might even end up becoming closer and being friends with her after this incident. or even more.. ;). But what's important is that you have to try to have a genuine conversation with her and that you make your side of the story known.

If you're dwelling in an rental problematic you have got to talk to the owner or the chief of the constructing. YOu take your proceedings to them in a reputable method. Tell the owner that the tenants in ( some thing rental #) are being very loud within the past due hours of the night or within the very early mornings. My brother is a supervisor of an rental problematic and won't tolerate any noses after 10 pm to be thoughtful to the entire different tenats. If this rule is violated greater than two times.. then he kicks them out. When the tenant first arrives, he has them comply with special regulations of the constructing group. If you get no outcome out of your landlord or manger of the constructing.. then you'll pass to the police and dossier a criticism.

The best way is to move from the area, because If you called the police then she will keep bothering you more and more, believe me I have tried it, I have called the police five times and that guy in the same condos next to my door who is loud in music, had pop my car wheels, and mess up with me more than two times, and I called the police then the police did not do anything, so we moved from that area, but when moving make sure you have nice neighbors, and quite area.

When I got out of school a friend and I rented an apartment and partied all the time. Our downstairs neighbor came one day with a bottle of rum and said we could have it if we would go somewhere else and drink it. We got the message. I'm growner now and have respect for our neighbors.

Tape record the noise and leave the tape outside her door with a note telling her that this is what she sounds like from your apartment. Chances are once she actually hears the noise she makes, she'll be embarrassed enough that she'll try hard to not be such a pest.

slip a note under her door. my friends are really loud at their apartment, and the people who live downstairs would always bang on the ceiling and say things to them, but once they left them a note, being very polite, they tried their hardest to stop being loud. it's easier because you can say things that you might not feel comfortable saying in person and sometime's people dont appreciate being confronted, so i think a note works best.

You have already talked to her about it. So next time you nicely say to her...nicely " Just a reminder, could you please try to be more quiet, maybe you have forgotten, it's o.k, I forget things to sometimes...maybe as a reminder I will tap my broom on the ceiling, just to let you know that the noise is bothering me" Then keep it simple and pleasant, but don't be afraid to use that broom on the ceiling when you need to. You have been sweet, but to the point. That way she knows that you are not trying to be a jerk but you need sleep too.
