Is the ferry the cheapest way? Or are there cheap airlines? I plan to travel from 27-30 December '06 (1 adult. Foot passenger - no vehicle)

Flights are really cheap these days. Don't bother with ferries, they are expensive and takes forever. Try Easyjet, BA, SAS. Forget Ryanair, they are a nightmare to use.

Too late now, but for next time, if you booked earlier (at least a month ahead, usually) and do it online, you can get Ryanair flights from London Luton to Sweden for the cost of the airline tax (ie, the ticket itself is free).

Last time I made the trip, the bus return ticket from London Luton airport to Cambridge cost me more than the entire flight both ways. I don't even remember what the flight was, but that bus ticket was £18 :)

The price difference for BA or SAS is not worth it, the flight is barely 2 hours, most people can manage without a meal and a movie for that long. Take a good magazine.

Normally the cheapest way is by Air, but as you have left it late then the prices will be high, a ferry will take at least a day and a half so you will need a cabin ( usually obligatory ) so that will cost, but I would check out Easy Jet and Ryan Air etc, for some prices.

Ferry is not cheapest and there is no cheap air line.
But there are two solutions having cheap cost and one witout any cost which is as follow:-
On 27th December 2006 sit in front of your PC fasten seat belt start google earth you can fly from England to Sweeden and will enjoy your traveing safly and cheaply.

Another way sit on your relaxing chair or lay in ur bed and think that God gives you feathers and now you are flying to Sweeden from England and when you reah fold your feather with care keep it with you for your return journey. ( Traveling without any risk n cost)
Expecting thanks and pray for nice suggestion from you for this.

Ferry if you are environmentally friendly. Plane if you're not. The choice is yours, check the Internet for prices. I would tend to avoid using aircraft where possible, but that's only my thoughts.
