We have had a relationship on and off for 8 years, We went out to eat on a Friday, he found another girl on Sat. and then Sun. he told me were done completely. It hurts he dropped me just like that, why would he do that? He is still with her, the only thing he says is he wants to see where this goes with the other girl. He was my friend how can he just drop me without any feelings anymore? I feel betrayed.

I'll feel honest. You had nothing but a friendship. If you ever wanted more, why did you not tell him?? Why did you let eight years pass with nothing but a friendship to show for it??
As for if you only wanted a friendship, he did not betray you. He gave up on you. He wanted more, and you did not. He found someone he consider as a romantic interest. He did not want a dating friend; he wants a romantic relationship. He found in her what he did not find with you. Also, if you think a guy that is your friend should have feelings with you, that is messed up. If you think that, you were only holding him back from finding a true romantic relationship.
It is one or the other...

The relationship since it was on and off wasn't as special to him or he didn't know what he had and wants to go out and date other women which is fine but the way he did it is just wrong and sounds like he still needs to grow up and act more mature. I'd say stay friends but go find yourself someone who will appreciate and love you and not waste another moment either waiting for him or pouting. Take it from one who wasted 5 years doing that and then found the man of my dreams, (we've been married 18 years now)

i'm sorry to hear that, sounds like he isn't such a good guy u shouldn't even bother wasting ur time and feelings on a guy that would do such a thing be was basically using u till he found the next best thing...now that he has he doesn't have a need for u anymore...it sucks but he did betray u, u were jus someone to get affection from/mess wit cuz he couldn't find anyone else to be with...good luck forget him erase him from ur mind and life...n dont ever let him back no matter how much he begs

Don't feel betrayed, be thankful!!!! I know you probably have feelings for him, but he obviously doesn't have any for you if he can just meet someone and dump you like that. What works is to completely stop calling him- cold turkey- for at least a month I know it will be hard but try to- and when he calls do not take his phone calls, for at least a month, allow him to explore this " new" girl cause she will eventually loose her shine, and he will wonder what ever happened to you. When ever, that happens, tell him you are in a relationship and don't take him back, keep him feeling like he's lost you for good!!!! I wouldn't go back, but you probably will, I would make him suffer for it. Trust me I 've been through it.
