So I was wondering if there was such think as good green tea and back green tea. Example: Tea that comes in a box and you dip into hot water as opposed to Tea that comes in a bottle cold (like liptons green tea with citrus) Do they both have the same effect?

It depends on what you mean by "GOOD."

Speaking of Japanese green teas, the BEST green teas are the ones that come from the first clipping of a young tree. They have the strong but mild/not_harsh flavor. They are brewed in luke warm water and usually by hand using a small strainer. An ounce will cost you as much as 10 dollars. In traditional Japanese cultures, green teas that come in tea bags and bottles aren't even considered real teas.

If you are talking about health benefits, remember, the "good stuff" in teas are in very small amount. Any benefit from drinking one only comes when they are consumed in very large and consistant quantity. (and even that is a subject to debate) Typical traditional Japanese people will drink at least half dozen cups a day, and little of anything else except for water.

I am thinking, the benefit of drinking green tea in western culture is more less the benefit of NOT drinking other drinks, such as soft drinks, and other more harsh kind of beverages.

The box is better, if its in a bottle it has to have extra preservatives in there to keep the flavor. Check out the ingredients on the back of the bottle and the box and compare,The green tea in the box will more likely be healthier. Regardless, the best green tea is soy milk green tea. Try it its good.

Both are supposed to be the same... iced tea is (supposedly) made by making hot tea, and cooling it.
Personally, I like loose tea, I think that the tea from tea-bags is sometimes a little stale, however loose tea with an infuser can often be alittle more fresh, and less processed. Of course, you'd need a tea-ball, but, meh...

All green tea is good. There are tons of varieties and you can get it in decaf.
I would recommend a spoonful of honey in the hot tea.
You can buy the tea bags in a grocery store. Just try a couple and see what you like. there should be 'health benefits' listed on the box.

green tea and black tea are both good for you, the difference is that green tea is much higher in anti-oxidants so you wouldnt need to drink as many cuppas as black tea to gain the benefits. I would suggest loose tea or tea bags. Dont go for bottled tea, it will be full of other crap you dont want, including sugars and sweetners and colourants, preservatives, etc etc.

Lipton Iced teas only taste so good because they are loaded with sugar, make your own with a tea bag and it's much healthier.

tea bags are generally fine, just look for ones that are pure green tea; the stuff in bottles generally has sugar etc. added, so I wouldn't drink it for health benefits (though if you like if, of course, that's a different matter).

I also find loose leaves taste slightly fresher (you can get infusers that makes using them nice and easy). I like chinese 'gunpowder' green tea - but just pick one that you like the taste of, without sugar, sweeteners etc. in it.
