How can I be afraid of something I don't believe in? If I were afraid wouldn't that mean I believed in God and was not in fact an atheist? If this were true wouldn't the solution to my fear be to become religious rather than be an atheist? Good user name btw. ;)

No, it's because God is afraid to show up. If He would , imagine how many Atheists He would convert. What seems to be the problem?

They can't be afraid of something they don't believe in. They believe that after you die you rot and turn back into worm dirt, what's there to fear there. I do think that most christian are christians because they fear hell. I'm not an atheist, nor a christian, but I do believe in God and that the spirit crosses over to another dimension (or a so called heaven) after we die.

No they are Atheists because they do not fear God....
Christians need to understand that not everyone will love, obey, or accept God, these are things that God knew so are we better than God, not to believe this and try to convert or make them believe? As God's word is written every thing in it shall come to pass.....

I Jn 4:5-6
5These people belong to this world, so they speak from the world's viewpoint, and the world listens to them.
6But we belong to God; that is why those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

That's an illogical question. In order for one to fear something, one would naturally have to believe in that something first, right? Atheists, by definition, do not believe in the existence of gods.

I'm not an atheist, but I think they are mostly afraid of humans who claim to "speak for God" and push their personal interpretations of the Bible on others.

Some of those old biblical laws are kind of crazy and some Christians pick and choose which ones everyone should obey and want them turned to civil law.
