I need a simple program to edit some photos. Whats the best one and why do you like it. I have heard Almara is good and I have used Photoshops free version but didn't like it.

Picasa from Google is a good one. It is very good for managing photos and edit too. It is free.

If you can find a copy of the April 2008 edition of MAXIMUM PC magazine, the disk included has a version of GIMP on it. Lots of folks I know swear by GIMP over even the mighty Photoshop, and (best of all) GIMP is freeware. Alternatively, you should be able to download it from multiple sources on the interwebs. :) I also use InfranView, extensively. I love it for simple tasks. It's great for basic functions, but it doesn't have very many features.
