While I don't believe in the last line..and I'm not a Christian...I just wanted to commend you on having such an OPEN MIND!
I wish there were more Christians in the world like you. It would probably be a lot nicer around here.

I think it is your responsibility to teach your child about God. But not to confuse your child with all the different religions. The kid will think it's all of bunch of horse **** and you'll be held accountable for that by God. Teach the kid the Bible, the God of the Bible. That is not religion, that is getting to know your God. There is only one God. I will not confuse my child with Islam, Mormon or any other religion that does not use the Bible as a tool to understanding who God is. That is the true and only God. My daughter is in Gods hands as well, I will not rip her out of Gods hands with confusion. Science proves nothing except to explain how some of Gods wonders work. Do you believe in all of them? sounds like you really believe in nothing because you keep searching for the right answer. Pick a faith, and build your faith in God. I suggest the Christains church.

I will teach my children about all religions as well. I have studied many just as you have and found my own path, which I will give my children the choice to do as well. I believe it is wrong to cram one certain religion down a child's throat when you can't ever be 100% positive which one is correct. I think no organized religion is correct, only spirituality and the way you feel about God can be be for sure. God is about giving us choice, who are we to take that choice away from our children, when in acutality they are God's children and if given the choice, they will make the right decision on their own with God's guidance in their hearts.

"But note also the exclusiveness of his claim: "No one comes to the Father, but by me." Every now and then I run into somebody who will say, "You Christians are so bigoted, so narrow. Why do you insist that Jesus is the only way by which you can come to God? Other religions have their ways; other religions are striving to know the same God, and other religions are more tolerant; but you Christians are so narrow!" And I have to say, "That is true; we are narrow. At that point Jesus himself was narrow, and we dare not go beyond what he said, because truth itself is narrow."
And there are certain illustrations that I use which help to indicate how narrow truth can be. Have you ever thought how narrow the telephone company is? If you want to call somebody up, the phone company insists that you use a certain series of numbers in exactly the proper sequence, and it leaves absolutely no room for you to play around. It is utterly narrow-minded at that point!"

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
As Christians we are stewards of God.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

When they train someone how to find counterfeit money they do not give them counterfeit money but rather they have them handle real money so much that when a counterfeit comes in they will find it right away. Even so when one knows the Lord Jesus Christ and has received salvation and learns the bible they will also be so accustomed to the truth that they will know right away when they hear something that is wrong. Knowing about other religions is OK but knowing the truth is more beneficial.

I am Christian and I also teach my children about other religions. I want my child to have a strong foundation - the problem comes about when parents not only don't teach their children about other religion, but also not enough about the religion they themselves practive, then when the child leaves home (college, work, etc) the door is wide open for false teachings and cults since the child has a weak foundation.

I will teach them about ones I know about. I have 3 kids (6, 4, & 2). We have actually had Muslims live with us.
Definately science! It is part of their curriculum & I love studying science myself. When our oldest son was 4, he was sitting in church drawing X & Y s on the bulletin.
Edit 1
I will teach them truth about the religions & the different cultures that surround some of them.
Edit 2
Wolfie-I teach them truth, and yes they will learn about Hell...but I have never used Hell as a motivator to follow my religion. I am not bing on emotional persuasion. So be careful with your judgments please. Plus, I ask why all the time. In fact, I tell my youth group that God gave us brains to think with not to sit on.

I'm going to tell my children about other beliefs, and instill a respect for all beliefs, but I'm taking my daughter to church and teaching her what I believe. My husband is Catholic, and I'm a Nazarene, so she will have the advantage of understanding Catholic beliefs and not hating them (like many protestants). I think it's good to learn about other beliefs, but kids need to learn their own (or family's) first and foremost.

God instructs us to talk about His word with our children constantly (while at dinner, while working, while traveling). What sense would it make for me to teach my children there is a way other than the Way? Parents are responsible for their children's actions to an extent. If we do not teach our children the Way of God, we will bear some responsibility for their failure to come to know God.
