In order to get menus you must convert to DVD format. If you just write them as unconverted data files (avi, mpg etc) then most DVD players won't be able to play the disc. Some newer DivX players may be able to...

What you have to remember is that the DVD format is a standard. By definition then the files must be DVD-MPEG2 compatible. There are many products out there that will convert your source files (eg AVI) on the fly and give you a host of Menu Options. Be aware though, in computing terms this is a time consuming process!

The best idea is to try before you buy and see what is right for you. You could do worse than ULead Video Studio 10 or Adobe Premiere Elements. Both are available in 30 Day trial versions from the manufacturer's Web site or from the Cover Disks on most video camera magazines.

Good luck!

I'm not sure you can have a menu unless you are converting to dvd.

What hardware are you playing them in? if it's a divx enabled player, then it will have its own menu for your files.

If it's on the puter, then you can't have a menu.

If it's dvd format, however, you can have a menu.

Give me more details, and I'll help you out.
