I spent my career in the Air Force, wish him luck for me!!!! He won't have an opportunity to use anything else while he is in basic training, so a phone card is perfect. He won't be able to use it until a little later on, but I think it's an ideal gift!!!

nothing now, wait until he returns from basic training, they go through and take away things like razors, ipods, books, etc. The only book you get to keep is a bible. I took a great shaving kit and they took it all away and gave it back when I left. During his training school he will need all kinds of things give it to him then. He doesnt have to carry it then from airport to bus to barracks and back.
