I just bought a new DVD player with a 40" Samsung LCD TV and when trying to plug in the HDMI to HDMI cable from the TV to the DVD, it just won't work.. (Claims "No Signal" on the screen)

Am I missing something here?

Thanks

This doesn'y require a signal, it is straight from a DVD player to the TV.

Problem Solved, I put in the RCA and I needed to change the output options in the menu. Once plugging back int he HDMI it worked

Check your DVD player documentation. Some DVD players do not enable the HDMI by default. Often, you will need to go into the DVD player system menu to enable the HDMI port.

Then, the obvious is to make sure that your TV is on the HDMI video mode.

sounds too me that you are on the wrong input (channel), try too change your input while your dvd player is on. if you dont find the channel , try rca jacks too see if you have a problem with the dvd player. rca jacks red, green and yellow ended cables

That's normal. You have to call your cable provider and they'll set you up. If they can't do it over the phone they might have to come out to your location.

That happened to me a few weeks ago. Do you have a attenna. If so you might have to either move it or disconnect it all together. I live in a apartment so we had to disconnect it because it wasn't getting enough signal.

try turning both off then turn the dvd on first then turn the tv on second.

press "imput" or "component" button on the tv remote until you see video.
