They're not deleted, they are on a different track. When a CD is burned, that session is essentially a single track (like a single song on a music CD). If you right click the disk, you should be able to select the "session" you want to look at - or you can use a tool like ISO Buster to read previous sessions.
In terms of data, the computer can only see the most recent track of data, so the older stuff becomes, seemingly, inaccessible.

It is impossible (& I cannot put enough emphasis on the word : impossible) to delete data from a non rewritable optical disk.
You can damage the data or make it unreadable .... but NOT delete it.
There is something more going on here.
I suggest you verify the "properties of the CDs in question...is the capacity what it should be ? Odds are that it's just not showning or reading the previous files.
Are you attempting to run "multisession" burnings .... if so verify all your settings. This is most likely the root of the problem.
I'm curious about what's going on ... please feel free to email me for further troublshooting.

This means, You don't know how to use "Nero" software.
I am using Nero 5.5 and not facing any such problem because in the starting of the process itself, it ask whether "to continue with the existing data" or "write a new CD".
If you are using any different version read the help file.
Again, if you don't find any answers there, go to www.nero.com and put the same query with their customer care with your software and hardware details. Otherwise, consulting your hardware vendor from whom you have purchased the CD writer, ask him "how to use it? and the problem you are facing".

The files that get deleted were either written by a different burning software or a different version of nero than the one you are using
